sold the 68 VC Mer-Men they had very quickly at $65 a pop!

And that's how the collectors have ruined this hobby. ^THAT is the whole problem right there.

Our toys from the 80s took 3 or 4 *DECADES* to gain value. Now it's 3 or 4 *WEEKS*. It's absolute bullshit!

They could simply take this new Scare Glow mold & recast it in GITD plastic & release it in Vintage Collection. They have the molds. But they would probably never even think of that.

I wish they fucking would do just that. I'd buy 2. I'm so tired of black body S'Glow.

@ornclown He's supposed to be made available next April, so despite this figure's high attractiveness, I decided it would be much more cautious (especially for my wallet) to observe the overall situation and how available he may be in my territory. For example, the only VC character France had difficulty acquiring was Zodac; the rest of them were distributed in almost every online store. Waiting game ...

I would like that funtastically goofy looking Mer Man, but yeah I’m with you, if it’s still that long until his official release date, I’ll try to stay calm and hope this will be resolved in due time.

As for “Vintage” style MAA, he is on EBay quite a bit, so I’m not sure what that means. I’m also not sure if I need him *that* urgently, with several nice MV MAA’s already in my collection… (the New Eternia being my favorite)

I definitely hear you on this delicate matter. I'm in the same boat as you regarding Duncan. In fact, they could easily replace my four MOTUC palace guards and I could start army building with just them (lol). Now, not to play devil's advocate, but the VC Man-At-Arms has this very specific charm, first infused by nostalgia, of course, but also by these tiny details: a younger character, a bold facial expression, articulated chains connected to the mace, and a more yellowish, nicely executed paint job. These details are enough to justify at least considering getting the curtain down with this final one.

I'm so tired of black body S'Glow.

I'm torn on this. I like both but I think this new black body style would work better for a Skeleton Warrior army builder. I think the black body with highlighted bones works better than the original version with the weird black paint patterns over clear plastic. But I love the original style & this new version kind of feels like a totally different character.  So I'm split right down the middle 50/50.  Just give me both! It would be perfect if they also gave us the original style in the Vintage Collection.

While I really like the look of this new Scare Glow (and, as mentioned, I will get him!), I'm an OG Scare Glow fan, through and through.

I hated the way the Revelations version turned out, and the Mondo 1.0 figure is terrible.... Classics did a pretty good job, except for the awful plastic cape, and the newest version from Mondo is pretty damn cool (but, somehow not quite Scare Glow... more of an undead necromancer.)

So, I'm still waiting patiently for my Masterverse Vintage collection Scare Glow with GITD features and CLOTH GOODS cape.

Do you hear me, Mattel?!?

oh god even Scott Neitlich is saying: "yeahhh Masterverse is probably dead lmao"

"-when a line is put on PAUSE, that is codeword for: 'it's not selling well, and we're going to do something else'"
He's even saying "On Pause" is a "weasel word" lmao

@monmakesx23 As far as I'm concerned, the crisis phase ended with the appearance of this spectacular "Chronicles" Scareglow, which seems to "inaugurate" something quite promising, to say the least.

If 7" continues as Chronicles that's great. If 7" continues at all, that's great!

But if they are planning to stop making 7" completely then for the love of God move it over to Mattel Creations like they did with the Vintage Origins line.  MOTU is not going to sell well at retail. And they are not going to hook a new generation of children.  There is a small dedicated fanbase & that's who Mattel needs to be focusing on.

I mean really, how many kids want 20,000 Man-A-Arms figures?  Most wouldn't even want 1.

Also, they now have a body to make Rio-Blast. Dragstor's body has a huge hole in it to hide Rio-Blast's guns. It would be stupid for them to not retool Dragstor into Rio-Blast.

And 1 more thing, Masterverse doesn't sell well?  Battle Armor Skeletor, Snake Sorceress Teela, Horde Trooper, Panthor, movie Beast-Man & movie Blade beg to differ. Why am I trying to get a Blade figure right now & looking at $80, $90 & $100+ on eBay if they didn't sell well???  Some don't sell while others are blink & you miss it. That's just the way it works with all toy lines.

I have to say those figures had low production runs or insane levels of scalping. Even 'LoP' Beastman disappeared.

I won't be out of crisis phase until I am holding one of these Inaugural figures in my hand and sizing it up to my existing Masterverse collection.

Though these two Scareglows (Revelation vs. Chronicles) were recently compared in terms of size, remember that they weren't aligned properly to begin with. This makes the comparison even trickier. Overall, however, when judging the envergure of both, it's far from an awkward night-and-day comparison, like Origins vs. Masterverse, for example.

@onlyoneskeletor even though these SG figures weren't aligned properly, I don't think we can be that wrong about the size, it is not an optical illusion or something...they're either the same size, or Chronicles SG is a little bit taller...

This new Scare Glow could originally be meant for Masterverse New Eternia but put in a Chronicles box at the last minute just to go along with the movie year. It doesn't make any sense why they would make the new movie figures 6" if they're keeping 7". They didn't make the '87 movie figures 6" so why make the new movie figures incompatible with already existing figures?
NEED MORE INFO!

I suppose the timing is ideal for rekindling our affection (or aversion) for our esteemed manufacturer ( 😑 ). I highly doubt this new Scareglow figure was created just for exclusivity's sake, especially when you compare it to Masterverse. Let's revisit the isolated incidents that occurred along the way with Masterverse: Jitsu is way too insipid overall, especially after his bio had him switch to the opposite camp. This one needs his vintage counterpart to properly close the chapter. The new Kobra Khan is fantastic and improves upon his 200X replica, so a proper vintage version with this characteristic shaped mouth would be exciting. As for the heroes, I want "the fastest draw in the universe" (hardcore fans should know who I'm talking about) and the robotic medieval knight. Then, I can conclude the chase for this clan. I previously referenced Kobra Khan, but I believe that incorporating a few more ancient snakes (particularly those depicted recently on various box artworks) would be optimal for constructing an additional faction and potentially completing it. P.S. There is still one last variant of Skeletor—well, a couple, actually!—but this one should no longer be ignored, judging by how He-Man has been spoiled by being granted his most iconic equipments to date.

@onlyoneskeletor Except for the fact that Mattel will expect you to buy the entire line (which of course they'll never properly finish) all over again.

To be honest, I'm skeptical of this. Inauguring with a character as Scareglow leads me to believe that the marketing plan might be to finish what Masterverse didn't succeed in delivering instead. The possibility of facing a situation that is the complete antithesis of the current one in three to four years is not at all far-fetched. How hilarious would that be?

A volunteer? The Masterverse Mer-Man (Vintage Collection) has reappeared in the same eBay store, priced at $10 more than in previous sales. Some people certainly know how to benefit from a conjuncture. https://www.ebay.fr/itm/147097583844

@onlyoneskeletor I think it is the same price as before, 65 $, but he sold even more figures now, 75...last time I checked, it was around 60 figures sold....unbelievable...it seems he bought all Mer Man figures available 🙂
