12 freakin lines & they can't even finish one of them.
I have a complete MOTUC Classics collection, and I've started collecting the 200X Mondo line, which recently hinted at integrating Snakemen. I mean, what more could you ask for?I don't have a complete Classics collection. And I can't afford Mondo & don't want 12" scale. I was happy with Masterverse. Masterverse was my line. This news is depressing as hell. The whole situation with Trump, tariffs, inflation, GREED, the shit economy and the state of the whole world is depressing as hell. Why even bother anymore? MOTU is a dumpster fire, Transformers are now unaffordable, video games are unaffordable, I don't even have a PS5 yet & the damn prices will not drop like they used to. Everything just keeps getting worse & worse & worse.
Just so you're aware the 200x Mondo line is 1/12th scale. So the figures are going to be 6-8 inches. Essentially, He-Man and Skeletor are around 7 inches, MAA is sitting around 6.4ish and Clawful is around 8 inches. The 200x line is also less expensive than the 1/6th scale line. The cost per figure is about 50-60% less than the average 1/6th scale figure, but one figure still costs as much as 4-6 Masterverse figures.
Figured I'd let you know in case you weren't aware. I am upset for everyone who was collecting Masterverse. I really felt like New Eternia was doing some cool things and its incredibly disappointing that Mattel did a rug pull just to resell you the same characters again. Why the movie line wasn't a Masterverse subline is beyond me. Looks like the best line will always be Classics/Origins and the original run following close behind.
I've heard a little about the new 1:12 Mondo line but I didn't pay much attention to it. Mondo is way too expensive for me.
Sounds like Masterverse is “on pause” just like Classics was…
I get wanting to revamp the brand for the movie, but Chronicles really should have been in Classics/Masterverse scale.
Same size, new buck/articulation.
If these movie figures were in scale, easy buy! But I’m just not starting another scale.
This was the way to do it.
I hope this pause doesn't mean the same end for Masterverse as it did for Classics. Mattel said more figures are in the works, right? Showing us just one of those figures will go a long way.
Pretty sure they used "paused" to not having to deal with any outrage from the collectors. Unless Chronicles really bombs (unlikely), they will want to lure people over to their new main MOTU line.

Whatever is closest to, or already completed will most likely be the last of the Masterverse figures...
Seeing as how the most recent MV waves fluctuated between 2 to 4 figures, I'd expect Mattel to show us about three upcoming releases as the final wave.
IF Mattel continues Masterverse in any capacity, it will be a Mattel Creations line in all likelihood.

@Ornclown I hope they move Masterverse to Mattel Creations. That's a lot better than flat out ending it. And they need to make the Vintage Collection available to BBTS, EE & Amazon. FUCK WALMART!!!

Does Mattel actually "deal with" the collectors at all? I know Hasbro is very "in touch" or "hands on" with the Transformers collectors. Chris Jaam on Youtube is constantly posting videos about Q&A sessions with the Transformers community. And they are listening & reissuing tons of Transformers that were hard to get. But Mattel seems to be completely disconnected. Mattel is like "We don't know what the hell we're doing, we don't know what you want, so here, take it or leave it, whatever, we don't care!" I doubt Mattel even knows or cares if all the Masterverse collectors are "outraged".
I just started posting on the Club Grayskull forum. Maybe somebody from Mattel will see it?
@sci-fitsunami Fair enough, that's been the vibe I have been getting from them too.

I’m afraid those last releases could just be Vintage Collection items… as there was some stuff rumored. It is a series I’m less into, but might go for it just because. This was the way to do it.

And / or maybe a Creations release of movie He-Man / Skeletor in Masterverse 😏
Could be wrong, but seeing as Chronicles is already starting in April, (preorders March?) and it’s February now, I’m pessimistic about getting another wave of New Eternia on BBTS etc… I hope I’m wrong.
What Masterverse figures were rumored to be coming?
All I can recall is vintage Evil-lyn.

I'm otherwise blanking but Scareglow.
@grayskullguardsman Toy Habits had mentionned a Wun-Dar as well ...
Yeah, but some of those like are still going.
I know. But my point was the ridiculous amount of different lines since 2020. I added a few items to the list & broke them all down so this list is more accurate:

Masterverse Revolution
Masterverse New Eternia
Masterverse New Etheria

I just wanted to see exactly how many different lines we've had in the past 5 or 6 years.
Did I miss anything?
@sci-fitsunami man, that's a lot...beside Mondo, everything else is Mattel's ? right ? after so many failed attempts, I don't understand why they are so sure that Chronicles and the other crap will be successful
they said whey want to attract new kids, new fans, that will buy the new line, bro, good luck with that, I think they are wrong again, big time...it's not the 80's anymore and there's so much going on with movies, games and everything, I am not sure that a lot of kids will be like : "dad, can you buy me this toy please" ?

No, ReAction is Super7 & Mega Construx is from Mega Brands Inc.
Here is an interesting article from a few days ago:
Toy makers are banking on movie blockbusters to boost sales in 2026 after last year’s brutal tariffs
And here is another:
Prominent Hollywood writer says ‘it’s likely over for us’ after viral AI video of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt
Only time will tell how this new MOTU movie does. Somebody said it would need to do numbers like the 2007 Transformers movie. But I don't know how accurate that is. I don't see it being that big.
And I keep seeing the same comment popping up across all the Youtube videos. kids don't play with toys anymore. It's mostly adult collectors buying toys. These days kid's toys are digital. Stuff like video games & ipads.

Off the top of my head, I'm thinking the only movie (or related) action figures that have done well are Jurassic Park and the video game movie stuff like Mario and Sonic.
More widely, it's WWE and that's about it. Stuff is WAY too expensive for kids now, the adults are obviously the target audience.

That was me, I was getting at the crazy money needed because no matter how often you explain it people refuse to recognise that, in this instance as an example, 400 million at the worldwide box office only means Mattel, Amazon etc simply break even on the movie and still LOSE money on the millions in promo and associated costs.
The average blockbuster probably needs to make like 600 million for the studio not to question the franchise's future. That's the madness of modern Hollywood. And to be brutally honest I don't see Masters making that sorta money with the realistic 2 week head start it's got in the schedule. It is absolutely reliant on dads in the way Barbie was mums, only dads typically need the movie to work for themselves first for the cost now! An MCU knockoff just isn't gonna work is my guess. And anyone who thinks those trailer numbers are impressive needs to compare them to something like even the two Mercy trailers or an actual hit like Minecraft. And trailer numbers don't actually mean shit because they can be effectively staged by promo companies anyway!
But anyway, Mattel are betting the future of the toys on this movie, so...

Speaking of which, when is this new MOTU video game supposed to finally release??
Are they purposefully holding it back until the movie comes out to bank on the excitement?

The only date that I can see that isn't simply 2026 is 31st of December 2026 now!
IN STOCK on Mattel Creations
I just ordered 2 and during checkout they gave me an offer for Origins Dragstor for $22. I didn't like the original $28 but $22 works for me so I ordered him.
Now my question is: WHY is only Teela on there??? WHY can't they ditch Walmart & sell all of them including Man-At-Arms & Mer-Man?
@sci-fitsunami I think this is the 1st time I see VC figure on Creations
@sci-fitsunami Thank you for the heads up on Teela, Sci-Fi! I just ordered her along with Moss Man (who is going for a great price)...
And speaking of Dragstor, have you bought the Masterverse version? He's not generally a character I feel strongly about, but that figure is just superb - I love him!
