We have been receiving a lot of inquiries asking if MASTERVERSE was cancelled. It has NOT been officially cancelled. (The website that claimed it was cancelled has since retracted that claim.) We spoke with Mattel and while it will no longer be the core offering (Chronicles will take its place), there are more Masterverse in the pipeline for 2026 and special releases planned within the Masterverse Vintage Collection. More Masterverse has not been ruled out for 2027. Mattel's exact quotes (no edits) are on He-Mania .com. If anything changes, or a cancelation is announced, we will update accordingly. For now, we'll leave you with a quote from Mattel "Stay tuned for more!" We will see what the future brings.
They really need to state clearly if it's going on a working holiday during Chronicles, gonna be cancelled after 2027, whatever. As far as the collecting community knows from the headlines it's a zombie shuffling towards a headshot. That'll affect sales in itself. Chronicles sales too!
If they hadn't been widely available in Europe as happens every time America get understocked, I'd agree!
As a European Origins collector, I'll have you know that (afaik) we never got Snout Spout or Leech over here! At least I never saw them anywhere 😀 So it goes both ways.

We got them in the UK (even smaller etailers had them) and they were up on all the usual German and Spanish sites? They're still occasionally cropping up on Amazon UK through Rarewaves etc.
Well, never saw them, but it's been a while, so maybe I was just very good at dodging them

C’mon. It was a global disruption, yes some areas were more affected than others, but also constantly shifting etc etc That’s what a global disaster does. Every company was struggling with shipping from China, for two years or so. (Also Millions dying.) You lived thru it!
Don’t let your hatred for Mattel make you a Pandemic denier.
Moving on.

Definitely heard a lot of complaints from German collectors about some figures not being available. Or had to pay extra through other channels. I think Thunderpunch He-Man was another one.
Wait, if you had everything in the UK what’s the problem lol
They just revealed Chronicles Panthor so I will be getting Battle Cat & Panthor to go into my regular Origins collection. I would buy Panthor no matter what anyway. Panthor is an automatic buy for me.
@Yen
I put together a list of the characters from the original line that I want in Masterverse. I don't want Hurricane Hordak or Buzzsaw Hordak. Also not counting all the POP females (I have them all in Classics so they'll have to do). This is only a list of the ones I want. We'll never get them all in 1 year. We'll be lucky to get 3 or 4. I could see Dragon Blaster Skeletor, King Hiss & maybe Rattlor being oversized MC exclusives.DRAGON BLASTER SKELETOR
MODULOK
MULTIBOT
EXTENDAR
KING HISS
RATTLOR
RIO-BLAST
ROKKON
STONEDAR
BLAST-ATTAK
ROTAR
TWISTOID
SAUROD
SNAKE FACE
SSSQUEEZEMost of them probably aren't even on the table like Multi-Bot, Modulok, Stonedar or Rokkon.
I was horribly disappointed with the lack of SDCC reveals last year & I'm expecting to be even more disappointed this year.I would love Queen Marlena to go with the King Randor & Prince Adam we already have. And I hope we get Scare Glow, Buzz Off, Stinkor, Webstor & Spikor in the Vintage collection. Spikor is my favorite character & the Revelation version kinda sucked. Not enough spikes. lol
@Cosmic
I'm ok with only the Vintage Collection continuing as long as:
A. It stops being a Walmart exclusive. Let Amazon, BBTS & EE also sell it.
B. They make ALL the characters.
C. They stop messing up the female faces.New Eternia/Etheria were cool but getting all the vintage figures made into 7" scale is way better IMO. That's actually the way they should go. I've been calling Masterverse "The New Classics" and that would really fit with The Vintage Collection. But they gotta release more figures faster & not be tied to Walmart.
you forgot Tung Lashor 🙂 the rest of the list is fine...it is not impossible, there's about 13 -15 figures left...they can do 3 or 4 more waves and few Mattel Creations exclusives, it is not like we are missing 25 figures or 40...it is absolutely doable...15 figures per year is what we got so far, plus Creations...if not by the end of this year, they can do it by the mid 2027...Modulok & Multi Bot are perfect for the Mattel Creations...it can be 2 pack, Mega-beast as one release, why not...Rokkon & Stonedar same thing...it is not impossible, hell NO !!!

At this point, I'm extremely keen to find out the precise proportion of New Eternia figures (if there are any) to Vintage Collection figures for 2026. Looking beyond this specific timeline (2027, etc.) is a different matter. We've been there before, and I don't believe a word they say about it. Remember all the twists and turns they went through to avoid openly admitting that the Classics line was definitely over in 2019? Pfft, those white-collar workers!
@admin It’s difficult, because if they say they only planned for this year, it feels like it’s canceled– the date is not now, but end of 2026.
The wording sounds very much, like they will do some final releases this year, it feels like a “lame duck” session, with the line’s days numbered.
If we know there are 5 more MV coming this year, that’s cool, 5 more figures, but knowing they will likely be the last, feels pretty dead to me. (I’ll take them, though!)
The fact they say more MV is “not ruled out” is the only thing that gives me hope, but it’s not a very tangible, assuring phrasing.
I’ve already started writing on Mattel’s accounts “please don’t kill Masterverse”!

like Shang Tsung said : it has begun !!!

It's also terribly nonomittal and sounds more like they are keeping the door open for now, just in case. But realistically, if Chronicles is really planned to be their next collectors line, the production capacity will have to go there for it to have any chance of taking off. Nothing worse than trying to establish a line and not being able to meet demand.
Alternatively, I could see them replacing Origins as their slow-drip Creations line with whatever may be left to get a "complete" Masterverse roster.
@lasastard From a technical standpoint, that is indeed their only option. But I won't even dare imagine how slow it might be to release a decent amount of Masterverse figures per year as long as Origins (the absolute favorite) aggressively maintains its position at Mattel Creations. However, I could see a worse scenario, so cheers! 🍻

Moving on.
Why on Earth do you think I'm a pandemic denier? Wtf? I'm merely saying Mattel shunted it all to Europe like they frequently do. We've seen it time and time again, quite often stuff is so overstocked in a particular country in Europe it goes to clearance as other territories lose out just because. That's no way to keep a business running.

I mean, Mattel (or rather the former MOTU brand manager) is on record promising that they would complete the vintage Origins line. Which they are getting close to. But that was in no way a sprint... I am still not sure how they managed to drag that out as much as they did 😀
Anyway, there was a specific committment there to see Origins through to the end; not sure they feel quite as committed to keeping MV going on Creations.
This whole situation feels exactly like the ambiguous approach Mattel took regarding Classics - "Sure, they're not off the table - we could release them under our new Masterverse banner..."
6 years later, how did that work out for us rabid Classics fans???
If you're a Masterverse fan, assume the worst. This is what Mattel does. And don't expect them to ever officially announce any kind of cancellation - they'll be more than happy to keep fans in the dark while pushing their latest lines and letting the ones we've invested in for years die a slow, agonizing death. It's kind of like having an awesome first date with a girl who then endlessly strings you along with little breadcrumbs of hope when you attempt to get a second date, just to keep her options open in case she doesn't get a better offer...

Well, you are kinda denying, that the Pandemic had anything to do with early Origins distribution problems, but I know your hatred of Mattel won’t allow any excuses. Even a once in a century plague.
Because every company besides Mattel was doing *great* back then, and had absolutely no problems getting their goods to where they wanted 😏 The shelves were FULL of Hasbro and all other toys.
Now, yes , there’s other difficulties, there has been for a while. But really, if it wasn’t for the MV fiasco, I’m not really that bothered.
They are not out to get you personally, lol
Someone claimed Chronicles Panthor had been revealed. Anyone have pics?
Yeah, that was me. I saw the Panthor thing somewhere, but I don't remember where. If it's fake that friggin sucks. But they probably will make him eventually.
@sci-fitsunami I’ve seen a (still) picture somewhere, too, in a video by some pseudo influencer. Couldn’t tell if it as fake or not.
If they make him in Chronicles now, that means he’s in the movie, which would be super rad.
I haven’t seen him in the trailer, but I hope they keep *some* surprises for later!

Right, so they managed to ship them all the way to Europe during the pandemic would be the obvious thing here. You seem to be putting your own pandemic hurt on me even though I didn't actually mention the pandemic!
And yeah, I've got problems with Mattel's way of doing business just like the WWE, Hot Wheels fans and whoever else. So don't bother gaslighting me, please.
If this is “fake” then sorry. But it’s cool regardless.
Yep! Thats the one I was talkin about. It looks pretty real except the eyes look like they've been made to glow using Photoshop. And the reflections look like a smudge tool was used.
I hope it's real because I like Panthor a million times more than Battle Cat.
I'm still wondering why Mattel didn't incorporate Chronicles into their already established Masterverse line and scale...?
MV is already home to the 87 Movie figures, classic (vintage) figures, as well as New Eternia.
I can't imagine that the 2026 movie has enough of a cast to dedicate an entirely new line and scale... it just would have made more sense to mix in the new movie designs along with the rest of the scattered smorgasbord (used in a good way, of course) Mattel had going on.
Is Mattel planning on adding "what-if..?" characters? What if Buzz-Off was in the movie? This might bee 😉 how his costume would look.
