I keep reading Chronicles really is slightly smaller.

I wish we would hear something about the future of Masterverse … but usually, they don’t announce the end of a line (probably not to discourage people from buying anything and everything).

Eternia Minis or Mega or even Classics ending, they never “announced” them.

Well they get us to talk and discuss and fret, which is what every company wants.

(My info comes from this German site, if you have means to translate this article:   https://www.planeteternia.de/cgi-bin/news.pl?newID=6287

I'm hoping the new movie stuff is short-lived & fades off just like Reveletion & Revolution did & New Eternia remains the main line.

same here...I am really not impressed by Idris Elbow Duncan and Fentanyl Evil Lyn...please give me back Masterverse, please...

@Yen I was thinking the Idris Elba Duncan could make some cool custom Palace Guards if they're not too much smaller than Masterverse. I would just need to sculpt the mouth guard.

I do like the body armor etc for Duncan, not sure if I *need* him.., I hope they improve the facial expressions for these.

I think I’ll get the He-Man first, he looks good. Maybe Skeletor, too. I do want to celebrate the new movie. Getting just the main two characters or a small group of favs could be nice.

The only thing that really bums me out about all this is the scale change.

Here are all the pictures of the figures:

https://ew.com/nicholas-galitzine-camila-mendes-alison-brie-masters-of-the-universe-action-figures-first-look-exclusive-11894012

Confirmed to be 6" & will fit in your GI Joe Classified collection not MOTU.  I would buy a few of these if they were Masterverse scale. But I have no use for 6" figures.

A lot of commenters on Mega Jay's livestream are going crazy over these. Masterverse is already lagging behind Origins, I hope these don't make it even worse.

From the unboxing videos by the actors, it seems that they are rather near the Masterverse scale. But I could err, as Groo would say...

@petruspeter No matter what the scale turn out to be I think it would fit just fine for me as I'm usually mixing a few Motuc survivors with my Masterverse figures. 👌

I'll need side by side comparisons first. I'm not starting another line, I'm sticking with Masterverse. I want to quit collecting everything but Masterverse. So they need to fit well. I'm mainly interested in these new movie figures just for parts & customizing. I don't give a rat's ass about any of the actors.

The leads look good and so does Battle Cat, so it's a shame he has the redesigned mask. The rest are of no use to me.

It won't be long until we get side by side Masterverse comparisons when they get the inevitable early ebay drop.

@sketchyskeletor Battle Cat's mask works perfectly fine for me, as it is close enough from the original design. Not as if they would have pushed the innovation too far, "A La 200X" for instance ...

It’s gotten hard to keep up with all the posts and comments in all the threads! 😅 So much going on.

I’ve heard pretty safe confirmation that these are smaller than MV. Just like it said in the Chronicles thread– these are supposedly closer to Marvel Legends, SW Black Series etc

I like them overall, I just wish they’d be MV size!

Some might fit with Classics, or even MV, maybe the women, a possible Orko or Gwildor… or some oversized figures. I wish this Battle Cat would fit MV! I love him!

BC looks big with those He-Man. I have a small hope he could be ok with Masterverse He-Man… won’t be looking huge but maybe… good enough?

We will find out…

The official PR from Mattel is that they're 1:12. No other dimensions are given.

Everyone but Teela and Evil Lyn are scheduled to hit shelves this Spring and the ladies will follow in the Fall. Since there seems to be more revealed like Ram Man he'll likely drop in the Fall too with more?

It seems to be like Marvel Legends (until we get full confirmation) in that it's a fudge to cover as many characters as possible while still claiming 1:12 scale.

Like it's hard to truly tell but when folks' hands are near them they really do seem to be around the skinnier, 16-17cm mark like Legends.

I wonder if the Battle Cat would fit my Origins figures?

@sci-fitsunami Very possible! With BC there’s some wiggle room, how big the cat should be in relation to He-Man…

If this is really around the size of the 200X Origins (or slightly bigger), it could very well work.

Yeah, 5.5" scale. I'm definitely getting Battle Cat (and hopefully Panthor) but skipping everything else.  I can't believe Mattel is charging $24.99 for these little shits. 🙄

So First Ones is the movie figures Origins scaled at 5.5 inch.

Then you've got Chronicles scaled at 6 inch (even though he keeps saying 7). Because reasons?

@ Sketchy Skeletor  I have no idea what's going on. lol I'm not sure what "First Ones" is/are. I was just focusing on the size of Battle Cat. I was thinking it would look a lot better than the actual Origins version.

First Ones is supposed to be the kids line, but it sounds more like Origins at the moment.

Poor Masterverse! As if it were already a thing of the past, it is increasingly filled and buried by the burning topic of the moment. Chronicles.☠

I stay here ! 😉

(but I find the movie figures great. Too bad Mattel don't keep any scale coherence...)

If Mattel could just be bothered announcing something either way... but they won't, too much is still shipping or sat in warehouses. They'll happily let us buy into a line that could be already dead.

If Chronicles really is the shrinkflation continuation of Masterverse it's already fucked. You might get a spike from the movie but after that all goodwill is gone because everybody knows Mattel can't be trusted to finish anything. Or even announce a small line is over. They've broken trust countless times.

Either they continue Masterverse in it's current form (rename it if you must but don't fuck the formula) or the larger collector scale is just dead in the near term. There's simply too much division of the brand and the natural audience has gotten kicked between the legs on the regular.

For me personally, if Masterverse is dead (because fuck starting all over again) the silver lining is I drastically lessen my exposure to Mattel's mismanagement. I just finish out Origins and don't have to deal with the wankers ever again.

If I wanted to give Mattel the benefit of the doubt, I'd say that Masterverse didn't lend itself to doing this movie line since the overall proportions were always a little off to beging with. Not unnatural, but the limbs seemed very long to me. Probably doesn't translate super-well to modelling real humans, so they had to bumb it down a bit.

Still, the list of MOTU action figure (sub-) lines is honestly getting too long...

@lasastard I do get that, somewhat, though I looove the longer arms in Masterverse. I find arms too short in Classics (especially when u bend them). Maybe I love them in MV because I myself have long arms, too lol

I’m getting MV Despara today and I’m excited.

Yes they won’t make announcements because they want to sell as much stuff as possible, that’s somewhat… understandable, even though it’s frustrating for fans.

I would be so excited to get an announcement that we’re getting some more MV. I guess, there’s always Creations…

Like I get it, but that doesn't stop it killing the golden goose altogether. Neither Origins nor Masterverse should have become essentially online only. Multiple other companies have successfully copied Origins alone but Mattel has no earthly clue on how to distribute their own products.
