@sci-fitsunami I get that. I think I also like the influences of the Netflix Adora– the pants that some don’t like, and the hair up / pulled back.
(I think the pants probably work better for the Despara look, and are more versatile for the different versions).
All in all, I’m looking forward to the figure. I forgot if she’s in my POL at BBTS, or if she’s the one figure from that wave I have preordered from Amazon. Regardless, I should get that POL, it’s worth sending, but I also kinda want to wait, since it might take a while to get new figures. (I am mostly skipping the 200C CC Origins).
So are the Vintage Collection Man-At-Arms & Teela going to be impossible to find now? Any new info on them? I didn't pre-order because I didn't think they would sell out. I figured Walmart would have an absolute ton of them just like Zodac.

I only got my MAA just recently here in the UK (no Teela yet), we've to import them. Could just be delayed but definitely PO in future. An exclusive vintage line is so shortsighted you wonder how these people haven't been fired.
@sketchyskeletor I couldn’t decide if I wanted them lol
And now they’re gone. I guess I’ll make due without them.
Teela is so similar to the NE Release, and would be my 3rd “classic” Teela in MV alone, plus the Classics version… (not to mention Origins), and the exact same numbers for MAA for me.
Pretty happy with NE MAA and the Classics version, plus REV for a more cartoony variant. That green is quite different to the previous versions, I admit.
@sketchyskeletor I got my VC Teela recently, from the UK, some UK seller on E-bay actually...

Interesting, cheers!
I don't pre-order from sites like Walmart or Target because:
A. I only have a debit card & they keep doing that thing where they constantly check your card to make sure you have the funds. I usually don't. Especially if it's 2 or 3 months away.
B. Some sites make you pay up front.
C. I hear about pre-orders being canceled all the time.
I pretty much only pre-order from Amazon & BBTS because they aren't a hassle.
I definitely want 2 Teela's for the extra heads. But I only wanted Man-At-Arms for the bright green body so if I can't get him it's not a big deal. Are Man-At-Arms & Teela really that much more popular than Zodac, Faker & Stratos?

I don't think they're produced in any real numbers now. Or at least not by territory, business case or even whether it's a full moon...
@sketchyskeletor It is to be hoped that he won't turn out to be as tricky to find as Zodac was in my country. I was very lucky to secure him instantly via the Bay when I did.

Yup, all mine are imports!
@sketchyskeletor Mer Man looks good, I really like the colors...so, Evil Lyn is next one in line, vintage collection keep on going...waiting for New Eternia stuff...all of the remaining figures are heavy hitters...
@onlyoneskeletor Damn, I can send you as many Zodacs as you want. My Walmart is overloaded with them. They're not selling & they won't put them on clearance. I won't be seeing any other waves past wave 1 because of Zodac.
@sci-fitsunami Masterverse's distribution has always been a bit of a mess. That being said, I wouldn't be bothered by a similar situation (this time in my country) for our aquatic evil warrior, as it is ironically tougher to chase these vintage MV replicas. This situation calls for the opposite approach.
So, about those female faces. Now we have seen the Chronicles Evil-Lyn that looks like Paul Reubens/Pee-wee Herman, is this line toast? For some reason Mattel seems to be getting worse with the female faces. I've been wanting more POP girls but after She-Ra, Teela, Adora & now Pee-Wee-Lyn, I'm not so sure. WTF is Mattel doing over there?
I want to believe that Masterverse lives, now more than ever...this Chronicles sub line is movie related and got nothing to do with Masterverse...maybe Mattel will take a (short) break and come back with Snake men and the rest of the Horde and Heroic Warriors, or maybe we will get them sooner than we thought...I think we deserve an explanation, if Masterverse is dead, they need to tell us, why is that so hard to do ?
I highly doubt they'll cancel any lines in a movie year. 2026 will be MOTU's biggest mainstream presence since 1986, so Mattel is going to go hard on pushing as much merch as possible.
When I said "line is toast" I didn't mean the line is over or ending, I meant the quality of the female faces is getting worse. So going forward, if all the females are gonna be butt ugly then the line (at least the females) is toast. My interest/enthusiasm is dropping. Frosta looked good but now I'm worried about any future POP releases.
I'll still get the rest of the vintage characters like the Snakemen, Extendar & Rio-Blast etc. But now I'm worried about any future female characters. Mattel is dropping the ball too often now. Maybe they shouldn't be working on so many different lines & focus on only 1 like they did with Classics?

Vintage Teela arrived today, garbage literally from top to bottom. The derp head was almost welded onto the neck peg, the hands are frigging tiny and realistically you can only display her one way because said derp head is needed for the headdress (in this case making her even more goofy). Oh, and that one's cross-eyed on my copy.
Obviously QC has gone out the window. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody got laid off and it fell on somebody else past caring.
@Sketchy Skeletor Damn! That sucks! I was hoping to get her. But with the way Walmart is, I'm starting to not care.
I was just watching Mad Hatter trashing the new movie figures. lol That Evil-Lyn face is hideous.
But on the bright side I should be getting Dragstor from amazon soon.
It is quite possible these displayed (loose) Chronicles figures are prototypes, and I have some hope that a final figure would have better faces.
But y’all are right with the declining quality of female faces… so I am a bit concerned. I liked She-Ra but NE Teela was not great, and I’m worried about Despara / Adora.
As for Chronicles vs Masterverse, the new figs do look like Masterverse and the packaging has resemblance to the MV packaging shape.
The question remains then, will Chronicles run as a Masterverse subline, or is Chronicles simply the “refresh” name of Masterverse?
It is possible Chronicles will be the new Masterverse, and will have sublines similar to MV, including something akin to New Eternia, PoP, etc They only start with all movie figs, more sublines start later. Perhaps the vintage line is the only thing continuing as MV.
Not much would change, except the packaging, and yes, some repeat characters probably, but I don’t think they’d repeat the deep cuts. I would like to think they’ll continue releasing deep cuts alongside movie figs, repeat popular characters, some new sublines,… Repeatong characters but building towards a full roster one day. Just under a new brand name.
OR not, and Chronicles will live alongside Masterverse, maybe even as a subline if MV.
It would just be a bit strange, to have two lines so similar, and MV has had noticeably less production run. If they’d both run simultaneously, I’d be worried MV would get the short end of the stick, less attention and less resources.
For now, we simply don’t know. But ya know, with the lack of communication, Mattel gets us to talk and speculate, all the fans in the world, at the same day. And in today’s times, Engagement is key, the most valuable resource of all. 😏
I'm hoping the new movie stuff is short-lived & fades off just like Reveletion & Revolution did & New Eternia remains the main line.
And it would be nice if the Vintage Collection stopped being a Walmart exclusive & moved to wider distribution like EE & BBTS. Just like Origins did.
@sci-fitsunami I have similar views on this. I hope they don't drag out the movie figures for too long. I actually find all these different lines a bit silly. It makes it quite difficult to know wtf is going on. There are numerous characters from the original line that are still awaiting a NE treatment. Will we see NE versions of Clamp Champ, Spikor, Stinkor etc? We got them via Revelation, so is that it? And then what? New Eternia! The name is open, so will this mean new figures? Melaktha? Lady Slither? What of some of the new figures we see in Origins? Red Shadow? Great Black Wizard? Any NA going to happen or did they put that to sleep?
