@yen1893 It’s kinda nice to see the following and enthusiasm this line is receiving, after a lot of criticism and comparisons to Classics in the beginning. It also has gotten better and I am enjoying it a lot.
I would find it odd if they would abandon this scale and this line, to focus on a smaller scale, like one “leak” claims. Smaller scales are not as profitable. Plus, the Toyhabits leak claimed those smaller “chronicles” figures will have 30 points of articulation… that sounds more like a 6 or 7in scale.
But then I guess there is Mondo, but their figures are so pricey… hardly a substitute.
With all that, I feel there will be some continuation. Perhaps that rumored “Chronicles” line is precisely that, like we originally speculated. Updated MV buck, some repeats, some movie figs, and some of those “missing” characters!
If they screw up Masterverse I'm going to say "To hell with MOTU" and just go back to collecting Classics. I lined up all my Classics POP girls & OMG! There are still a freakin ton of characters Mattel needs to make. At the rate they're moving, it'll take another 20 or 30 years to cover them all.
And with the way they are obsessed with flooding the stores with He-Man & Skeletor constantly, I don't have much hope. The last 2 waves were a nice surprise but with the new movie coming up, I doubt that will continue. Masterverse just started to really pick up speed in the right direction but now I'm worried the movie is going to derail everything.
I'm getting really sick & tired of Mattel & Hasbro totally ignoring certain characters. Thats the most annoying thing about modern toy collecting. Why won't Mattel ever make a new Blast Attack? And does Hasbro even remember Bugly exists?

And it's really annoying how Mattel skipped the only good character from the 87 movie, Saurod. They chose Blade & Beast-Man over Saurod? WTF???
So I just got New Eternia Beast Man V2. Figure is great but something I noticed on the side packaging art is a Beast....Woman? Can anyone explain her? How obscure of a character is she? Or is she like meant to be a generic nameless member of Beastie's tribe or something like that?

Thats the 2nd time she has shown up on the boxes. It's the biggest flaw of this franchise, army builders that Mattel never makes. Just like on Earth, every species on Eternia has generic male & female characters that could be army builders. Mattel could make female versions of most of the characters but they never do. Hawke & Granita are the only ones I can think of that were made into actual characters. I've been wanting this female Beast-Man since the first time she showed up. But Mattel won't even make Palace Guards from all the Man-At-Arms we already got. It makes no sense.
@slycooperastroboy51 Yeah the latter, it’s just a nameless generic member of BM’s tribe. Would be fun to have her, but I feel it’s also nice that illustrators can play around in their work, adding some monsters and generic figures just for fun.
Sometimes it’s a bit much, whenever something shows up in illustrations, to always expect it’s a tease for something coming up.
@sci-fitsunami Hot take of my view on the entire franchise, but I don't like the idea of Skeletor having disposable minion armies akin to Stormtroopers or Doombots. I know it's happened several times with small robots and Skeleton warriors, but I honestly see him (and prefer him) as the type of villain who would rather rely on individual unique warrior minions that impress him enough for their strengths, even if they're dimwitted failures sometimes.
The way I see it, he thinks he looks stronger, more threatening and powerful if those who fear him see his underlings almost as powerful as he is instead of seeing copy and paste henchmen. Even more so if it's about two dozen as opposed to two hundred that can cause so much chaos.
Anyone get my view here?
@SlyCooperAstroBoy51 They all have massive armies under them. Mer-Man answers directly to Skeletor but he still has an army of Aquaticans under him. Beast-Man has his tribe. Buzz-Off & Stratos command massive armies of Andreenids & Avions. If they can create new characters like Hawke & Granita they can do the same for every race. They can make that female Beast-Man character, even if she's just a MC exclusive.
Aside from Buzz-Off’s and Stratos’ people, it’s a fairly recent development to have everyone have their “tribes”, races,… namely coming from the 200X series.
In the original releases, there was the comical “Skeletor’s people”, and yes the Avionians, … Bee people in Filmation,… but I always preferred seeing these warriors as unique, maybe mutations,…
I don’t love it when everyone has their own race of similar looking warriors… it really takes away from the uniqueness and originality of these warriors.
(in the German audio-plays, BO was the Lord of the Wasps, I don’t remember if he lorded over bee people or really just over little wasps)
I think it’s because I’m very attached to the action figure concept of them, instead of wanting this big rational world lore that is explained thoroughly and functions logically.
As figures, even Man-At-Arms’ green body was subject of speculation… It didn’t occur to us at first, that it’s a suit. Alcala drew him with green fingernails 😁
That being said, I don’t want to turn back the clock and don’t begrudge anything, I still have my several headcanons, for myself.
I always loved the Avionians and would take several figures of different characters, and I certainly would like that female Beast Warrior.
I see Eternia as a whole planet similar to Earth. Each race has their own people/country/nation/culture. I also cannot wrap my head around Randor being the king of the entire planet. There has to be other kings all over Eternia that we just haven't heard about. Eternos is just one kingdom on Eternia, it's not the entire planet. How the hell can Randor be the king over an entire planet?
I've always hated the Filmation cartoon, it ruined the whole franchise IMO, so I have to use my imagination & make up my own stories.

I understand what you’re saying, it’s good we can all have our own view. I think the most recent canons favor your view, but yeah, for that we would think they’d do more army builders.
I think it may have to do that they don’t like unknown characters or non-characters. Like the Origins Sketchbook Series, they only do characters that can have an existing MOTU name.
Even just all the people who buy the Hordak and Grizzlor set by mistake, online without picture… it will defs sell better than if it’s a new character with totally new name.
Plus people do buy variants of famous characters, those casual fans even… but they might not buy “Avionian #3”.
OR they may go nuts for Beast Woman?? Who the heck knows!
@Cosmic I can't wait to see what the new Origins 4-pack is going to have in it. Toy Habits says it's going to be faction themed & may include an Avion like Stratos, Aquatican like Mer-Man, a character from Beast-Man's tribe & some kind of skeleton warrior. That's right up my alley. I just wish they would do stuff like that for Masterverse.

Btw, I just got an email from BBTS, they will start processing the orders for wave 20 soon...Mattel is still silent, not a word on future waves/moves...

@durendal Man, They need to just keep May Thamtarana on retainer for human portraits. It's for real crazy they can do the incredible NE Evil Lyn portrait but, totally shit the bed on Teela. We've gotten 3 Teela figures in like 2 years and they all look bad. And as a whole the dude portraits aren't that much better.
Too much forehead on Adora. But why is anybody surprised? We saw the pictures of the alternate head way back at SDCC. It could be better but it's not that bad. The headsculpt doesn't bother me, just the high hairline.

I've been thinking about it & in 2026 all I want are a few more Snakemen + Rio-Blast. If we can get those I'll shut up. Of course all the original vintage characters like Stonedar & Rokkon would be nice. But I'm getting kinda tired & burnt out from toy collecting so Rio-Blast & King Hiss are all I'm asking for. And Vintage Collection Scare Glow would also be nice but I'm not holding my breath.

What irritates me is that the Origins brand never seems to be negatively affected by any Motu news that surfaces on the web. Masterverse, on the other hand, is in the opposite situation.
