@yen1893 I’d be down with Multibot, I only ever had him as a vintage figure, always loved robots…
I think there’s great potential with him, when not having to deal with the mix and match, just coming up with a creative design, just like the new Horde members.
With NYCC coming up fast, and the annual “Fall Catalogue” announcement, I’m sure we’ll get to see more clearly where Masterverse is headed, soon!
Somewhere I’ve read that the toys for the new movie were already shown (with non-disclosure agreements) and that they look rad. I just hope that with it, we’ll still continue to build our New Eternia line-up with its occasional deeper cut characters, rather than starting completely fresh.
I’m even ok if a new subline is a “follow-up” to New Eternia, as long as it doesn’t redo every single character we already have, before getting to yet unmade ones.
@cosmic I'm not worried at all! In fact, adding another subline under the ever-expanding Masterverse umbrella (MOTU Chronicles, perhaps?) would only temporarily impact the ratio of new Eternia characters negatively. Nevertheless, I'm satisfied with what was shown at the last SDCC. It brings me closer than ever to my ultimate goal with this line. That being said, I won't forget the list I shared a few hours ago. I want them all!
@onlyoneskeletor And you get so much for the money. I love New Eternia.
@dgsimo According to Toy Habits it is Dragstor

Apparently *another* MV Vintage release at next week’s WM Collector Con? This is in addition to Teela; it also isn’t Stratos either. This one has no name yet

Correction: Apparently it’s Mer Man, it’s hidden in the specifications.
@cosmic that is how Teela should look...that's it...nothing less nothing more...
@yen1893 You mean this new Vintage Collection?
I mostly agree, though since we already had two classic-ish Teelas in Masterverse (plus many other variations), I wouldn’t have minded some little bonus. That helmeted head… isn’t it. It was born from a workaround back in Classics…
@cosmic Yep, the new Vintage Collection...her face is much much better than the NE Teela's...I cant wait to see what they gonna do with Mer Man...btw, if anybody still needs Kobra Khan, these guys have him in stock
It's not BBTS price, but it is not scalper price either
@yen1893 You can check what Mer-man looks like in the "latest news" section. It was just published. 😉
@onlyoneskeletor Yeah, I just saw it...I dont now what to think really...I ll buy it, but...idk...what say you ?
@yen1893 That's what Mer-Man does best—confuses potential new buyers! Jokes aside, I'm easily swayed by nostalgia with this one. As a kid, I was obsessed with the idea of owning the figure one day. Each morning, I left for school a bit earlier just to relive the thrill of seeing it in the shop window of the local toystore in my village. It has such absurd facial characteristics, but I've always preferred this one over the more notorious face he has in the mini-comics (Alcala period) because I find it stranger and, to some extent, creepier.
They went all in with the vintage figure vibe, as expected with boots and gloves in the skin color, or no gloves…
I was imagining a slightly less cartoony and creepier version of the vintage head, than what they gave us here, and an armor with more detail. This pic makes me think of Origins!
We have to keep in mind though, that this is an early version, because it has a white background. These are often hand painted prototypes. Photos with the darker background will be more authentic to the retail product.
So perhaps the face will be a bit less humorous in the final paint app. But even if not, this is a consequent rendition, true to the vintage figure. I just would have hoped for a subtle enhancement.
I find the experience very displeasing. Mattel is playing with my nerves again with the Mask of Power Demons, which has been illustrated for the second time. Though nothing guarantees their production, they pretty much have all the necessary toolings at this point. Add a few tweaks here and there, and voilà—accurate prototypes!

That sounds like a Mattel Creations exclusive two pack…
@trollanhunter that sounds like a great idea...actually, we need beasts, play sets and vehicles in NE...so far we had Bone Throne and Panthor only...that's unacceptable
These "Vintage Collection" figures are trash.
Nah… in fact, I’m seriously considering that super-goofy Mer-Man.., Per my philosophy, he is different enough from previous releases, to justify the purchase…
But perhaps I’ll wait till he actually comes out. Too much spending right now (though I guess Walmart doesn’t charge preorders until it comes out? Does anyone know?).
Vintage Teela would be worth it for the head(s)… but the difference to NE is small.
Why does MOTU always come in waves and too much at once! My fault for collecting both (vintage) Origins and Masterverse 😵💫
The official Wave 19th gallery is now online (thanks, Toyhabits!). That being said, and with no offence intended to anyone working at Mattel, I think they should hire me to exploit the Masterverse buck before they start shooting the promoted figures. Mantenna has the same posture with and without his gun, and Mosquitor?... Posing while holding quite awkwardly the sharp end of his weapon?! Come on!
@onlyoneskeletor agree 100%...what do you think, when these 3 will be available for pre-order ? Maybe we were wrong about October...or not
@onlyoneskeletor maan, this is crazy...they are up for preorder at BBTS right now 🙂 coming in October...crazy
