A bit more toy design flavor in the PoP ladies would be nice, too, since the Classics versions went all in with Filmation. To have a bit of contrast between the two versions.
But all in all, the more the merrier! If we really wanted the emphasis on more characters instead variations, this would be we the way to go!
It would definitely be refreshing, especially if they find the right pace at which to introduce each new character. As for the Princesses of Power, absolutely! I clearly prefer their vintage, glittery, glamorous outfits to the subdued look they have in the cartoon. Besides, that's exactly the route they've been taking with the recent New Etheria She-Ra. This is nonnegotiable, Mattel!
P.S. Special mention to the additional items I'd love to see: Spydor, Dragon Walker, and Fright Frighter. I love the M.A.S.K. vibe that this vehicle has! I also love pretty much every character from the "Sketchbook Series" They're phenomenal!
@onlyoneskeletor that's a great list...only thing is, I always considered Blast Attack member of the Snake Men crew...I don't know why, probably cause of the mini comics or something...
@yen1893 if I recall King Hiss has Blast Attack built in the mini comics. King Hiss is definitely the one who sends Blast Attack to be a menace.

@smitty-81 Well, one could safely say that this was anecdotal. The Masters of the Universe Classics bios, which canonized the lore during the exploitation of the brand, clearly state that he was stolen and reprogrammed. Furthermore, when the figure was officially integrated into Mattel's catalog, Marvel (Star Comics) published a chapter introducing this unstable warrior on a mission with Ninjor. According to the story, Skeletor summoned them from another dimension, which supports the theory that he was his ally before becoming useful to the reptilian enemies. Not to mention his reappearance in the Revelation cartoon series, where he reinforces the evil warrior camp once again.

Classics had far too many extra terrestrial and extra dimensional characters for my liking. And for no good reason as far as I'm concerned.
Also saying a characters original origin is "anecdotal" is ridiculous, and I think shows a level of disrespect and maybe a bit of arrogance from the writer.

@onlyoneskeletor I remember one of the Marvel (Star) comics issues had Blast Attack, Ninjor and Faker on the cover page, attacking He Man together...interesting trio, I always thought 🙂

To be fair, I was pointing out the context more than the character itself. As for his so-called origins, I'd be more cautious. For example, if Blast Attack was officially a member of the Snakemen, as you claim, how would you explain the absence of their logo on his vintage blister card? Disconcerting, isn't it?
@yen1893 @onlyoneskeletor the Ninjor/ Blast Attack/ Scareglow team up is from the newspaper comic strip.

Creative license by the mini comic writer. And when that happens in a character's origin it basically becomes canon.

If you had paid attention, you would have noticed that the story you're referring to, "Ninjor Stalks by Night," has nothing to do with the one I was describing. Oh well!@yen1893 @onlyoneskeletor the Ninjor/ Blast Attack/ Scareglow team up is from the newspaper comic strip.
@smitty-81 I was thinking about this one, but never mind, it is not important...let's agree we all want Blast Attack figure in Masterverse 🙂
Ah yes, Blast Attack– I was aware of his contradicting status, and yes, I always remembered the mini-comic status, but also other media in my country, media where he was an Evil Warrior.
So for me, it was one of those many, MANY instances where there was more than one canon / origin, and somehow, even as a kid, I didn’t mind.
I probably didn’t even think of it as “conflicting canon” nor could I explain it so eloquently, but I was always aware of different versions and sometimes combined those in my play. Filmation wasn’t around, and in any case we didn’t have cable yet,… so my primary inspiration were various comics and books (and cardbacks)
A big influence and source of joy were the Mini-Comics (that had sometimes conflicting versions already), add to that Ladybird books, European comic book series and promotional brochures by Mattel. So my MOTU world wasn’t really dominated by one canon so much, as it was always… multi-faceted and “Shattered” (Helloo New Eternia!)
- Preternian Heroic Warriors
200X King Grayskull, Veena, Sir Laser Lot, Mighty Spector, Bandwidth, Gladiator, Tytus, Eldor, Beast Lord
- Preternian Evil Warriors
Great Black Wizard, Megator, Saryn
The fulfillment of that list by Mattel would make me the happiest collector on earth. 😍
Yeah no thanks on Mighty Spector. I'll take a Masterverse Sharella though. (and I mean Sharella not a Green Goddess figure)
Being a Deathstroke and Deadpool knockoff, the Mighty Spector has never felt like it belonged to me. It's weird because as a MOTU fan I believe every one of us could create a better character that blends well enough within a universe that fits almost anything
@mighty-thanos Well, I suggest considering this as another one of Motu's mashups with another franchise, like Deadpool, as you said in this example. After all, isn't that what MotU Origins does best these days? Naturally, if they decide to redesign this character as a Masterverse figure right away, it would be a significant time saver for me.

@admin Assuming the pace between the first visuals and preorders of these figures is similar to the previous wave, next week should mark the start.

If Mattel was doing an Origins crossover with Marvel I'd be first in line but I can't pretend it's something it's not. Better to pass on the figure with my greenbacks.

That would be nice - wonder who from this wave will sell out quickly, never to be seen again except at ridiculously inflated prices…
I think it will be Anti-Eternia He-Man. I might buy two and reap the rewards later.

Anti-Eternia He-man seems very plausible, yes. However, I wouldn't underestimate the other two candidates accompanying him in this wave. Mantenna, in particular, has the most grotesque design of these three warriors. That type of visual is a real money magnet (lol).
