Woohoo!  Just received my MC Moss Man.  What a figure!  Had to do a repair on Kobra Khan.  His left leg snapped off at the thigh swivel.  Thankfully his movements are not too hindered.

That sucks about your Khan. Get a replacement if you can. Kobra Khan is going to be worth big money a year from now.

@mighty-thanos Thankfully I managed to repair him without losing too much movement or possibility.  A tad disappointing.  I must remember to be a little bit less vigorous when having a play.

@onlyoneskeletor I have been waiting to see if another figure can knock Webstor off the #1 spot as the most valuable Masterverse figure. Perhaps one of these will become the one. 🙂

@admin Webstor... A name that inspires so much resistance and pain for my credit card! When it was still available in online stores such as BBTS, I was unsure about taking the first step toward buying the whole range. I can still hear myself saying, "No, he's not up to par yet. He can't compete with the Classics figure." How ironic that that would change just a few weeks later. I know he's your favorite Motu figure. I'll keep an eye on the current situation and the potential of these newcomers to make you reconsider your personal ranking 🧐

Wow! Black and Red all over!

I sincerely hope they won’t be so underproduced as some of the recent waves, where at least one of the figures becomes ridiculously sought after.

Ironically, since MV reduced waves to three, I think I’m buying more of them than before! The designs are just amazing.

But this, this wave is so cool because each figure is a never-before-seen character in MV! Outstanding!

(I guess Anti-Eternia HM is a He-Man variant… but he is barely recognizable as such and counts as a new character for me!)

@cosmic You know, the situation has only gotten worse with these latest waves, at least for me. Nowadays, as soon as the first images appear online, I rush to my shelves, desperately searching for them. I'm kidding, of course! But you get the picture. This toy line has literally turned me into a plastic addict.

@onlyoneskeletor Mattel understands the psychology of what they are doing to us I have no doubt.

Speculating about future Masterverse sublines is exciting. For instance, might Mattel follow Filmation's lead for He-Man, given that the Princess of Power sub-range briefly occupied that space? Can we safely call the latter modernized Filmation figures? What about a 200X subline? This iteration of MOTU seems to be back on track lately (Origins / Mondo). But the designs from the sublicensed manufacturer (price being put aside) encourage handling their figures with much more care, which greatly affects the experience as far as Im concerned. I'd also like to see more representations of DC Comics characters, as most of our heroes' visuals are sick!

I’d love a Teela in Masterverse scale with the head and face of the Filmation CC Teela.

I’m mixing some of the CC males with my Filmation Classics, but the CC females are just way too small to try to blend them with a bigger scale. The Origins females are too small for their own scale.

If Masterverse does start with some more Filmation figures, they need to be a little closer, at least, face-wise.

Masterverse POP She-ra, Hordak, Catra, Leech, Frosta, etc were a little too far from ideal.

Figures more like Classics Catra, Scorpia, Octavia that look like detailed-up versions of the cartoon would be awesome.

@grayskullguardsman Currently, Masterverse always does a bit of its own remix of designs, so it is difficult to imagine really “faithful” Filmation figures in Masterverse. The buck itself is a little more edgy and weird, which lends itself to… wackier designs (which I mostly love).

But nothing is impossible, since we saw the CC Filmation figures in Origins… if Masterverse really does get a “reboot” with new parts, it is possible.

I hear what you’re looking for, but for other fans, I’m not sure if we need two Filmation sublines from Mattel, in two scales… (I totally agree the women are too small in Origins tho).

But as long as we keep getting more “out there” designs parallel to Filmation sublines, I’m all for it!

I love all 3 figures, don't get me wrong, they look amazing, but I don't understand 1 thing...Mosquitor and Mantenna are labeled as New Eternia ?!?!?!...so what is the point of having New Etheria line...we had New Etheria Hordak and She Ra recently, what is the idea ? I really don't get it...so we will get the entire Horde in both New Eternia and New Etheria ?..say it ain't so Joe... that is stupid...I wonder which figure will come next through New Etheria line...maybe Man At Arms or Beast Man 🙂 I honestly don't think we had enough Beast Man and Man at Arms figures 🙂  and 1 more thing, Dragstor should have been a part of this wave...imagine 3 Horde figures in 1 wave...Mattel really can't get it right

@yen1893 I suppose the reason is that both Mosquitor and Mantenna are part of the vintage Masters of the Universe line. As for future figures labeled as "New Etheria," Catra and her multiple design variations are perfect candidates, as are her female allies. The question remains: Do they even care?

@yen1893 Ah does it really matter? In the bio of Mosquitor, it says that Hordak sent him to New Eternia to suck up all remaining power of Grayskull, but yeah, I think @onlyoneskeletor has the perfect explanation. Except for Hordak.

I really see New Eternia and New Etheria line as one thing. Maybe if they run out of options, they *could* also make a New Eternia She-Ra, but for now, I see this She-Ra as corresponding to the New Eternia characters.

Except I still wonder, which one is the “legitimate” He-Man in the New Eternia world. Do people really use that early, barbarian-themed He-Man paired with these amazing newer NE characters? He looks a bit… not quite as cool as the newer stuff, and, with He-Man, some collectors may also prefer a more traditional look.

I guess it’s up to the individual fan… I’m actually using the Revolution Battle Armor He-Man with my NE figures. He is my favorite MV He-Man, and the only I have besides Savage HM.

I think REV BA He-Man, with his metallic parts, fits well with the NE world. With Skeletor, it’s easier, his NE version is great, and his NE BA is awesome, too. (The only one I didn’t get is the original REV 1.0.)

Hordak's situation is a bit more complex. But since he is known to be She-Ra's iconic arch-enemy, perhaps they are taking more liberties with him, despite the color he sports. If this is true, there could be many more versions of this character than we expect. To be continued... Or not (lol)!

Nooo they repeated my absolute pet peeve from Classics Hordak with this new NE MV Hordak!

His arms feel a bit short! Compared to the very long MV legs.

Classics Hordak (or the Buzz-Saw version that I have, at least) has T-Rex Syndrome. (A problem throughout the line). I was so looking forward to get a grey Hordak that can replace him (even though yes, the muscles are nicer with Classics).

Masterverse figs have great reach, it makes them impressive, especially with figures like REV BA He-Man, NE Faker, REV Tri-Klops,…

It’s subtle, but with this new Hordak, it seems they tried to reduce that “gap” around the biceps, b/c the parts seem the same length. So they are put together differently? Or the elbow part is different. The result is a shorter arm.

And I hate it lol.

Even though otherwise, this is a GREAT Hordak with probably my favorite 6/7in head!

I blame all of the fans who complained about that “gap” lol So annoyed. Devil is in the details 👹

Mattel Creations has launched a new monthly poll for Club Grayskull members. This time, we were asked about our preferences regarding character variants. I definitely leaned towards the DC variant characters (Eternity War), as I'm upset that Mattel didn't push that lever sooner. Classics was reaching its twilight at the time, and such a choice would have been the perfect opportunity to reboot the line one last time. I just can't imagine how awesome they'd be as Masterverse figures.

@onlyoneskeletor Somehow I assumed this poll was aimed at Origins at first; I made a few points what I could tolerate or like.

At the end I added I don’t want more variants in Masterverse lol

Wishful thinking; but I’m so heartened with the latest waves(s) and announcements at SDCC, *finally* new characters, I don’t want to go back anytime soon. (One new character per wave? That was tough).

If they run out of MOTU characters for MV, just get back into that barely begun New Adventures subline! And do stuff like Force Captain Adora!

@cosmic I comprehend the rationale, which is in alignment with my own ruminations from a few years prior. At that time, I realized that I needed to temper my expectations for new characters because, at least with regard to Masterverse, it seems that Mattel prioritizes first- and second-tier characters. Believe me, I wish the situation were different.

@onlyoneskeletor I was actually there, begrudgingly, just prior to SDCC. I celebrated the one character that was new per wave! And picked up the one or other of the 2 re-released 1st- and 2nd tier characters.

But, I was so impressed by the SDCC presentation, that didn’t have one single repeat character, outside of AE He-Man, who looked like a new character, and Keldor, come to think of it.

But still, in the newest Masterverse wave, there’s not a single real repeat (again, outside of AE He-Man, who is quite creative for such a “repaint”).

So I have hope that for the foreseeable time, it’ll feel a bit more “fresh”, to collect the line. I’ll take it.

If, for the movie “refresh” / Grayskull Chronicles whatev, they will give us all the same main characters again, I will deal with it I guess! I do feel we’re in the calm before the storm for that, and perhaps the creative directors figured they could fit in one a bunch of creative redesigns of the Horde!

Feels a bit like what they did with “Savage Eternia” in the CGI He-Man toy line!

@cosmic Okay, let's have some fun, shall we? Below is a non-exhaustive list of characters that I expect to see in the Masterverse line in the future :

- Vintage Snakemen

Snake Faces, Squeeze, Tung Lashor, Rattlor, King Hsss

- Ancients Snakemen

Quick Flick, Strech Nek, Vypor, High Priest Pythonus, Serpentor, Fang-Or, Lady Slither, Cham-Or, Dart-Os, Toxoïd

- NA main characters

  Hydron, Flipshot, Flogg

- POP

both vintage & Scratchin' Sound Catra, Entrapta, Double Trouble, Perfuma, Sweet Bee, Mermista, Netossa, Castaspella, Spinarella, Angela, Glimmer,     Flutterina, Bow, Madame Razz, Kowl

- Horde

Mantisaur, Hurricane Hordak, Buzz Saw Hordak, Modulok, Multibot, Monstroid, Slime Pit, Doom Tower

- Heroic Warrior

Extendar, Rio Blast, Stonedar, Rokkon, Rotar, Fearless Photog

- Evil Warrior

Blast Attack, Saurod, Karg, Red Beast

- Preternian Heroic Warriors

200X King Grayskull, Veena, Sir Laser Lot, Mighty Spector, Bandwidth, Gladiator, Tytus, Eldor, Beast Lord

- Preternian Evil Warriors

  Great Black Wizard, Megator, Saryn

The fulfillment of that list by Mattel would make me the happiest collector on earth. 😍

@onlyoneskeletor Definitely some surprises on there, deep cuts,… personally I’m missing Spinwit and Tharkus for NA… (whatever Tharkus’ US name is,… the Centaur dude). Two big gaps in Classics NA that I would LOVE for MV to fill.
But yes, I’d very much love a redo of Hydron without the inflated torso.

Personally I don’t need a lot of the Ancient snakes, besides Lady Slither,… but if they look cool, I’ll be convinced!

A bit more toy design flavor in the PoP ladies would be nice, too, since the Classics versions went all in with Filmation. To have a bit of contrast between the two versions.

I believe there are some Horde concept characters, prototypes (isn’t there a rad early version of Dylamag?), that may be more interesting than ever more slithering snakes.

But all in all, the more the merrier! If we really wanted the emphasis on more characters instead variations, this would be the way to go!

Yeah no thanks on Mighty Spector. I'll take a Masterverse Sharella though. (and I mean Sharella not a Green Goddess figure)
