@onlyoneskeletor My complaint about BBTS was just that their shipping used to be very quick (for me), reliably so. And they are nowhere near me! It took just a few days.

Now it’s much slower. Still not bad. But it seems everyone has slowed down to the level of EE, who used to be the slowest.

Otherwise I still love BBTS! Their prices are solid, and if you check often, you can get the things that eventually will be overpriced second market items. And Pile of Loot is awesome.

My only problem with BBTS is Fedex. Their $4 flat rate shipping is always Fedex. I have tons of problems with Fedex. Luckily this last time my Kobra Khans got delivered without any problems. USPS shipping jumps up to over $12. I wish they would do free shipping over $25 or $35 like Amazon & Walmart.

I have become such a sucker for the Masterverse line! I mean, SDCC was over a month ago, and I'm already eager for the next batch of figures planned for this autumn. Up until recently, I was still able to temper my excitement over each new reveal, but this familiar fever that I thought I had left behind with Motuc Classics has suddenly returned. Oh boy, not good news for my wallet...

Just as long as the next reveal is loaded with POP girls. Or a Vintage Scare Glow.

I swear to God, 1 more friggin Man-At-Arms and............

@sci-fitsunami If they use the 'New Etheria' subline to reimagine the princesses, there is a good chance that they will appeal to a wider section of their target audience. This would be more than welcome at this point, to be honest. I wish I knew more about the actual NA figures produced so far and their impact on the market. If memory serves, they were Target exclusives, weren't they? That would explain why there has been a sudden suspension of any more characters from this Motu iteration — not very engaging, is it?

Yeah, the NA releases are great figures but were handled so fucking stupidly it was incredible. Even by Mattel standards. The two leads just disappeared while they produced so many of Slushhead he's STILL to be found across Amazon's European sites and elsewhere. Therefore nobody knows if the subline was a success or would have been.

All that said, I'm willing to bet we're getting NA in Origins (and therefore Masterverse) between the mini comic appearances and how far they've already gone with 200x - like there aren't so many major characters left from what we've seen already (unless they display intelligence for once and mix Filmation, 200x and NA into waves. But this is fucking Mattel we're talking about).

@sketchyskeletor Well, that's certainly the way to go! Just remember how brilliantly they handled their multi-inclusive line last decade. In the absence of any ability to innovate, the least they can do is take notes when confronted with that type of tricky situation (lol).

I juest received Kobra Khan, Stratos and Hordak (from Amazon, very surprised to have got them so easely here in France) and I really love these figures. I had never been into MOTU - except for the Four Horsemen period - and I love Masterverse : balance bw sculpt, articulation and real playability as toys is great. I would prefer more "excentric" characters than always the same ones, of course, but it remains the best mainstream action figure line for me !

Can't wait either for the next waves, @onlyoneskeletor

@petruspeter Yes, Amazon makes the experience pretty random, so I prefer to have a few other venues from which to purchase these great figures as soon as they're available on the market. You're going to love Kobra Khan, as he offers so many options (maybe a bit too many, you naughty Mattel people!). I'm glad to speak with another French fan of Motu, so: 'Salutations, cher ami!'

@sketchyskeletor I’m impressed and encouraged by your optimism re: NA in Origins; I just don’t see it, but I would love it! Those old figures were always too skinny for me, but now I do love them for nostalgia. Seeing them in an updated buck, like Classics did and those few MV releases, that would be really fun. And Mini-Comics about NA!

Even if they did just the most important ones (Icarius and Hydron, yawn), if they include at least some cool villains, it would be fun to revisit that era. Formative years!

But also: RELEASE SPINWIT / TORNADO IN 6 / 7 INCH, MATTEL!!! DO IT!!

For me at least I simply don't see where else they can go, that 200x reveal was pretty comprehensive in Mattel terms, and the mini comics have shown the multiverse and NA so many times now. It just makes sense.

Like you I wasn't impressed with the figures originally but you put those on an Origins buck... and so many of them would just be standard bodies with overlays and swappable parts as usual anyway. I honestly think they'll happen.

That's not very 'heroic' of him.

@cosmic @depp76 I think it's clever of them not only to capitalise on the design when expanding a popular character under a different banner. Another way for the extra buy to be justified. If I'm not mistaken, they did the same with a few other names (Roboto, Jitsu, etc.). I like that!

@onlyoneskeletor I agree, it gives another incentive to buy these versions, and it’s kinda fun to get a curveball like that.

What they did with Mossie, I see it more as tragic, and he can still be a reluctant ally. He’s the equivalent of the angry, “crazy” hermit trope, and his look certainly fits this description.

He’s pretty great btw. The face still is the weakest part about him, but I don’t mind it. And the armor, body, accessories,…with really nice washes. It’s a pretty impressive figure.

It’s likely this is the NE Beast Man buck, with some clever (removable) additions, but I haven’t compared yet.

Kobra Khan, Teela, Hordak & New Etheria She-Ra are on Mattel Creations. I just ordered Moss-Man & another Khan.

I 'd like to get that She-Ra head but not for $45. 2 whole figures or 1 head? lol

@sci-fitsunami That's just way too long for me. When characters of that calibre are already available somewhere on eBay, I have to get them right away, no matter what the cost (impulse buying, lol). Anyway, I ordered Moss Man a week ago and he still hasn't left the warehouse. Bear in mind that I'm still far from beating the record for Dark Lyn (who took two months to be shipped!).

MOSS MAN HAS LOST HIS MIND

From the New Eternia Moss Man Box:

(see attached)

This is pretty cool... I like it when characters completely jump the shark. Moss Man has always been the friendly, gentle, nature-loving, dependable good guy. This is a really neat way of flipping the script and taking his story to the next chapter.

I'd like to see something similar happen to an evil warrior....

Didn't they make Jitsu a good guy on New Eternia? I remember being confused over that.

Well, you will excuse my tendency to exaggerate (I'm a passionate guy, after all), but paying $46 on eBay instead of $29 from any retailer is not what I would call 'scalping'; rather, it's a case of applying an unavoidable margin to the product: the initial seller's profit on the one hand, and the cybermarket's commission on the other (in this case, eBay). @ornclown NE Jitsu's bio is definitely worth a look!

Oh! I was thinking one of the guys who pay over $100 just to get it early.  Like the Youtube reviewers do.

I have been collecting the vintage collection figures. I know they aren't a favourite with some but I really like them. I had initially planned to just get Skeletor to go with my 40th He-man but on a whim I also bought Faker. He was a character I never particularly cared for but when he arrived and I had him in hand it was a revelation...then and there I decided to get them all. I tracked down a reasonably priced Zodac and have Stratos arriving any day now. In Australia they aren't easy to find but there is a window of a few weeks where they're available on the Mattel website. I missed out on the Classics line, it just wasn't financially viable for me at the time and though these aren't quite as nice they are a decent consolation.
