I really hope that after this one, Sketchbook Series shows a little more ambition and branches out beyond variants of vintage characters.
Because the people asking for concept art are usually asking for mummies, witches and weird giant brains, not "Man Cosplaying as Bumblebee" Buzz-Off.

@evilwarrior The 'weird giant brain' one is actually related to what would become Mosquitor further down the line. But I see your point — that's fair.

@evilwarrior It’s funny you say that because just yesterday Mattel revealed a Man-At-Arms cosplaying as Bumblebee, the character from Transformers. That’s their next crossover subline. As much as I love both MOTU and Transformers, I’m personally terminally allergic to any crossovers no matter what they are.

@onlyoneskeletor oh, I am quite aware of that...I read Battleram Blog and own Power and Honor Foundation Catalog too lol

And if we wanna walk that road, then I shouldn't have mentioned Wrap Trap either because theres at least some circumstantial evidence that he was just step 1 on the road to King Hiss...

But both him and the brain are conceptually different enough that I don't think Mattel would get away with calling them "Sketchbook Mosquitor and King Hiss" the same way they could call the manbearpig "Sketchbook Grizzlor", y'know?

@evilwarrior And... We're not the only ones posting around here, so I'm sure some less informed members will be pleased to get these insights. Isn't that why forums were conceived in the first place? I mean sharing and discussing different topics.

@onlyoneskeletor you almost make it sound like I was criticizing you for mentioning the brain/Mosquitor connection. I wasn't, if that's how it came across.

@evilwarrior No harm was caused at all. As for the rest, I always welcome criticism as long as it is constructive.
