COMIC and REVIEW: “Destroyer of Worlds” Minicomic

Continuing this new reoccurring series!

For years Michael ”Smitty.81” Smith has been largely responsible for digitizing minicomics for the "Masters of the Universe" community. Now, HE-MANIA.COM will be officially cataloging his work, accompanied with his personal reviews.

COMIC:

REVIEW:

“Destroyer of Worlds”

STORY:

With the help of the evil Meteorbs, Evil-Lyn tries to take over the universe with a hypnotized Stonedar. Really, that’s what happens. Evil-Lyn’s plans are thwarted when the heroic Meteorbs tell Rokkon and Granita, who are looking for Stonedar, what Evil-Lyn is up to. Evil-Lyn’s plans go awry when she tells Stonedar to kill Granita and Rokkon. This power was established in the newspaper comic strips, but for some reason he can’t use his power to harm his children, even if he’s an adoptive father. Stonedar sets Evil-Lyn’s ship on a crash course with a nearby star, but she escapes in a magic bubble, and the Rock People go home to play soccer or fütball.

ART:

The art is very cartoony again, but not as bad as previous mini comics done in this style. The layout on the last page is confusing.

CONTINUITY:

This mini comic seems to catch up with Evil-Lyn after the events of the Horde Invasion. It’s not clear how Evil-Lyn met Stonedar or got a cool hammerhead shark spaceship.

FINAL THOUGHT:

I’m not really a fan of the art used. The story is clunky and it wraps up suddenly. This seems more like a mini comic written for the Meteorbs, but really, it’s more about Evil-Lyn than anyone else.
