Knowing that Mattel (specifically the good folks that work on the “Master of the Universe” brand) are among the readership for He-Mania.com… we thought it might be beneficial to shine a spotlight on a frustration the collector community has been experiencing for years: Walmart Pre-Order Cancellations.

Routinely occurring with collectibles ordered during Walmart’s Collector Con (a virtual event where Walmart offers exclusive collectibles from major brands)….

…pre-order cancellations for their offerings have become so surmountable that the event has been dubbed “Cancel Con” by the community.

The latest example is the “Masters of the Universe: Origins “Cartoon Collection” (200X) Deluxe Samurai He-Man” action figure that was made available for pre-order this past October at Walmart Collector Con.

Over the past two days we have been receiving reports of many cancellations for this pre-order, leaving supporters of the brand asking what was the point?

We are not going to speculate where exactly the problem lies, but we hope this issue is something that Mattel can at least take a look at…. and perhaps with Walmart’s assistance, improve upon in the future.
We’ll see you next time.

Hell yes
They cancelled my vintage MAA…
hoping they pop in stock later.
@grayskullguardsman Same here and I don’t want to pay $50 for it on ebay.
They weren’t Collector Con figures but when Walmart cancelled some Masterverse figures on me it crushed me.
Mine was cancelled yesterday. I read some WWE figure ordered during Colletor’s Con got cancelled too.
Walmart order fulfillment employees are the laziest in the world. Every order they say it’s not in stock and cancel your order and most of the time it’s in stock.
Is there some kind of consolation prize for low effort partizipation the industry hands out and Walmart tries to collect the most of?
Its quite an pathetic show of ineptitude for such a big company and kinda rubs off on a partner that wants to act in good faith and do something nice for the fans.
I hope Walmart stops these embarassing faceplants or at least Mattel finds a more virile partner; there should be quite a lot willing to step in.
Not personally having been affected by that specifically but by the same situation for other items from other shops; I totally feel the pain.
As a consolation, how about Walmart send me a Turtles of Grayskull Mer-Man figure?
I will humbly and graciously accept it.
Too funny man! I also had my Samurai He-man cancelled 3 days after they told me it was being packaged for shipping. Major bummer dude?! But they also cancelled 4 mutated mer-man orders on me back in the day so go figure. Let’s hope this one doesn’t become too overpriced on the after market.
