We are thrilled and honored to announce that the legendary Mike Young will be a guest at MOTUNIVERSE, the ultimate He-Man and She-Ra Celebration!

Yes, the man behind Mike Young Productions, the studio that created the 2002 animated reboot series “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” dubbed as “200X” will unite with his fans at MOTUNIVERSE, this Memorial Day Weekend, May 23rd & 24th at the “Torrance Marriott” in Redondo Beach in California.

Historically important to the expansion of the “Masters of the Universe” lore, Mike Young has had quite a stellar career beyond the 2002 He-Man series that debuted on Cartoon Network.

Learn More about the amazing Mike Young below:
Mike Young is the co-founder and partner of the company that once proudly carried his name — which means he can technically claim he used to own a guy named Mike Young.
His accidental leap into animation began in 1980 when a children’s book about a crime-fighting teddy bear, SuperTed, exploded into a global TV hit. (Yes, he’s the man who made stuffed animals heroic long before it was cool.)
Today Mike serves as CEO of Kabillion Studios—proud owner of 92% of Kabillion, the multi-platform kids’ network that beams into over one hundred million U.S. homes. If you have children, there’s a fair chance Kabillion has babysat them at least once.
Mike has produced a parade of feature films including Once Upon a Forest for Fox, Clifford’s Big Movie for Warner Bros., Rock Dog (plus two sequels!) for Lionsgate, Woody Woodpecker for Universal, and Soccer/Football Stars for Netflix. In the works are R.L. Stine’s Little Shop of Monsters, Mark Taylor’s The Last White Rhino, and Guy Vasilovich’s Under the Mystic Moon.
He also produced the BAFTA-winning and six-time Emmy-winning Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks, starring none other than Mel Brooks. Other credits include Norm of the North and its sequels, the holiday hit All I Want for Christmas Is You with Mariah Carey (Amazon Prime’s #1 movie in 2018!), and two seasons of Kulipari for Netflix, now expanding with a feature and new episodes for Disney/Hulu. Between 2022 and 2024 he delivered thirty new Woody Woodpecker shorts that restored fans’ faith after some… let’s call them “experimental” versions elsewhere.
Mike’s animated résumé also includes beloved classics like Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, Lalaloopsy, and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe—all of which remain steadfast fan favorites, conventions, shouting, and cosplay included.
Over the years Mike has picked up a BAFTA, fifteen Emmys, Humanitas Prizes, Pulcinellas, Parents’ Choice Awards, the FICCI Frames Award, and even a Hugo Award—basically everything except a Grammy, though it feels like only a matter of time.
Currently, through his closely held company Mike Young Productions Inc., he’s producing the live-action feature film The Greatest Player You Never Saw, now moving into casting
We are so honored to have Mike Young at MOTUNIVERSE!
