    1. Gawd damn Mattel, it’s about time. I suggested Mattel branch out into the video game market with their IPs YEARS ago! I’m glad to see this is finally happening.
With that said, however, Bitmap Bureau’s portfolio isn’t anything to write home about. They have produced some pretty subpar games recently…
I wish Dotemu, Tribute, or Wayforward were the developers.

@sketchyskeletor If Limited Run Games is involved, you can bet there will be a physical version. Moreover, LRG usually offers different versions of the game as well… usually a standard edition, a classic edition, and a collectors edition. The collector’s edition typically comes with some cool swag too.

They used to with PS4, but quite a few games aren’t getting physical copies for it now and I’d put money on it being Sony’s doing because the Xbox One is getting a physical release of Shinobi for instance while PS4 doesn’t! Which is obviously madness with the PS4’s userbase and it getting a digital copy. My guess is they wanna EOL the PS4 because the 5 was a disaster initially and 6 is on the way.

    1. Strangely it looks like Evil-Lyn is one of the playable characters.

They do say 4 playable characters and we see He-Man, Teela and Man-at-Arms. So that leaves one unknown and it could be Evil-Lyn or she could be the level boss and keeps summoning the skeleton warriors.
If its not Lyn, then who’s the fourth hero, and when will they add Wun-Dar as DLC?

    2. I noticed that as well, He-man’s super move phases right through her when it hits the skeletons. There’s a latter sequence where she seems to dash across the screen as a huge fireball that knocks He-man to the ground, so it could be that she has to be unlocked first or there’s an option for friendly fire.

  1. Okay I went back and re-watched the footage in slow mo/frame by frame and it shows Evil-Lyn actually hitting He-Man with an attack so I guess she is an enemy not a playable character. Must show up multiple times as she does appear in different backgrounds.

So who is the fourth hero? We do see Orko at one shot but he’s alongside Granamyr and with Teela posing with a raised arm so I’m thinking they are a summon special attack.

  2. I legit am excited, like a few months back when I was new to these forums, I made a topic asking what y’all’s ideal MOTU game would be like. It gained a little, but not much traction. From what I can recall, none of the suggestions were an arcade style beat ’em up. The only one of those I’ve ever really played was TMNT Shredder’s Revenge (and a tiny bit of the Scott Pilgrim game) and loved the hell outta it. Do have interest in the next game the developers are doing that’s basically the same except with Marvel.
Needless to say I wouldn’t say I’m hyped, but more excited that we’re getting a modern console MOTU game in this style and I can’t wait to know who the other characters included are. Ram Man? Stratos? Buzz-Off? She-Ra? Orko? I mean just because he’s inexperienced with magic doesn’t mean he can’t fight with it.

    1. Filmation Graphics!
      Excited Cringer

      Not quite….
This game has weird Capcomesque hyper-stylized graphics.

The OpenBOR Masters of the Universe game that came out a few years back did it right. Beautiful Filmation characters and animation, backgrounds, special attacks and music ripped straight from the 80s show.

    1. There was a time when I would buy a gaming console just to celebrate the release of a favourite franchise. Am I still that adventurous years later? Hmmm…

What’s the last system you bought? A PS4 is as fancy as I’m ever going!

    2. @sketchyskeletor PS4: God of War, Mortal Kombat XL and Berserk, among others. These would be a few franchises that have entertained me for weeks on end. Now that we’re talking about it, I think it might be the best option for me: stepping back in time with all the related advantages. I despise the way this industry has evolved in recent years. There’s no fun in looking ahead with all the disgusting marketing practices being used. So, is the Grayskull sword strong enough to make me reconsider? I really don’t know at this point.

Realistically there’ll be very little difference between the PS4 and 5, for instance. Though it’s sounding like digitally only, which I fucking hate…
And I hear ya, that’s exactly why it ends with the PS4 for me. Sick to the back teeth of endless updates for games that shipped broken AF, the ‘DLC’ that’s already on the disc awaiting unlocking, or an access code being the only thing on the disc…
