Now that the new “Masters of the Universe” movie is about to make its worldwide premiere on physical home media, we wanted to continue our new series discussing what could have been… reports on exciting content that was omitted from the finished He-Man film as early as the pre-production phase, and as late as in the editing room.

Today, we are taking a closer look at the heroic warrior known as Moss Man. When the evil forces of Skeletor descend upon Eternos in the beginning of the movie, three heroes of Eternia go to work… Ram Man, Mekaneck and Fisto… all rush the courtyard to show off their special abilities, their action features, in defense of the King and the good people of Eternia.

But did you know there was a fourth heroic warrior that charged into battle to fight Skeletor’s evil minions as well? Yes, it was Moss Man and here is a behind-the-scenes clip where you can see Ram Man, Mekaneck, Fisto and Moss Man… rushing into battle.

Each character was given a moment to shine in that fight, and when we chatted with Moss Man actor Stephen Adentan on the FOR ETERNIA Podcast…

…we learned precisely what happened when the fan beloved, leafy-green character charged into battle. Here is what the Moss Man actor had to say:

“I had this bit where vines would shoot out of my hands and all of Skeletor’s horde would just get lifted up by these vines and get flown everywhere and there’s a really really intense roar that I think you see in one of the pictures, a really intense roar from me that really just shakes the shakes the ground,”

However when actor Stephen Adentan saw the “Masters of the Universe” movie for the first time at the Hollywood Premiere in Los Angeles, California, he was surprised to see the Moss Man scene cut.

“So, I’m watching the scene. I’m like, “Guys, guys, look, I’m with my fiance. I’m like, it’s my bit. My bit’s coming! I think it’s it’s going to be amazing! This is… Oh…. it’s it’s I think it moved to the next thing. It moved to the next thing.”

Now why this scene didn’t make the final cut, we don’t know. It’s hard to imagine Moss Man’s attack was omitted due to pacing, considering when the other heroic warriors have their moment to shine, it lasts mere moments.

Perhaps Moss Man appeared too powerful leveling multiple enemies with multiple vines, spurring audiences to ask: Why didn’t Moss Man use that power to defend himself before Skeletor turned him into mulch?

Whatever the case, we do hope this scene makes it in a future home video release either in a deleted scene supplemental section or in an alternate cut.
