OUR REVIEW:
This new take on the Star Trek clone episode "The Arena" has a little welcomed originality added to it. Now there is a clever spin where Prince Adam can't transform into He-Man in time to be selected as the representative of good versus evil (and Skeletor decides he can do more evil scheming behind the scenes instead of competing.) A fun sport throughout. (8/10)

  1. This is a great episode for so many reasons – J Michael does a great job of both bringing out personality in the characters but also subverting expectations- after the first three minutes everyone just assumes it’s He-Man vs Skeletor, not Fisto vs Spikor.

I love seeing Mer-Man again after awhile but I’m sad this is his final Filmation appearance- I think he would have made a great “guest-star” She-Ra villain, either with Skeletor or without.

This episode has also been fun for me because when my son was first watching he’d always want to watch this one for two reasons: 1. It has Spikor in it 2. He-Man mocking Spikor with “sPiKoR tAlKs ToO mUcH!”
