OUR REVIEW:
This episode featuring the debut of both Roboto and Modulok starts out with a spectacular opening, a mysterious ship (with an even more mysterious pilot) found burried under the sand. What the story settles into is a solid tale featuring good additions to this series' heroic & evil roster, with both being visually and narratively interesting. (7/10)

Why does Roboto pur like a cat? Lol
10/10 I LOVE HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBOTO! Modulok is a great bad guy and Roboto is a perfect fit for the royal family. The only thing that makes me sad is we had to wait this long for him to join. I wish Roboto was in this series as much as Ram Man that’s how much I love him.
I love this episode – makes me sad that the show is winding down at this point because Season 3 definitely added a lot of compelling characters from the ’85 line. In particular I love how they did Modulok, introducing him in He-Man before he transitioned to She-Ra (much like the toy’s background), and how he’s treated as a full fledged Eternian villain in his appearances.
I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it, it’s a shame that they really started to enhance the animation in the latter episodes, imagine what it could have looked like if it continued beyond the 130.
Great episode that’s simple in plot and stakes, but in a good way. Love Roboto and it’s a shame that he is yet another supporting character of the entire franchise like Man-E and Fisto who in reality only had at least less than four or so appearances in all of Filmation.
A guard for his lab, really Duncan, WHY DID IT TAKE YOU UNTIL NOW TO COME UP WITH IT!?
Definitely just me but if I think about it from Roboto’s perspective, the concept of a guy like him crash landing on a weird planet like Eternia gives me classic Osamu Tezuka sci-fi vibes replace Roboto with Astro Boy and set it from his perspective and it would feel like a plot out of the original manga/60s anime and no not just because both are robots. Really recommend the 2001 anime movie, Metropolis and Tezuka’s magnum opus, Phoenix, to maybe get a better idea of what I mean.
I like Modulok. Questions, was he created specifically for the cartoon and then they decided he be made into a toy like Orko?
Was he always meant to eventually be designated as a Horde member and was never meant to be a Skeletor crony if She-Ra was still being developed around this time?
4 stars. Robotos voice is annoying, but otherwise he is a great character. His origin here makes much more sense than the 200x one. Modulok is an A class villan.
