OUR REVIEW:
Count Marzo returns with a crazy plan in a story that teaches you to 'just say no to drugs!' While this tale begins as cringey as most of the other moral driven episodes, while not great, can still entertain thanks to some of the script's funny lines. Over "A Friend in Need", we'll take this. (5/10)

    1. It’s interesting that you and AJ prefer this one over “A Friend in Need", I’m actually the opposite and I can’t really give you specific reason why – I really enjoy them both, both do a great job of presenting the issue of drugs to younger viewers.

I like them both but Count Marzo was more fun to watch than Jarvan. That’s my reason but both do a good job teaching kids to stay away from drugs. I think the effects are better demonstrated in this one. In A Friend in Need it sometimes seemed Ileena was taking steriods instead of something like crack. That was better here too.

  1. I’ve put a lot of thought into Adam’s secret identity over the years. In my personal headspace, one reason it doesn’t come up much is because it never crosses anyone’s mind that He-Man would actually have a secret identity (until we get to “Mistaken Identity", one of my favorite episodes of the series.

But that said, this is one of those episodes where you have to wonder if Teela is blind – Adam disappears in front of her three times in the span of a couple of hours and He-Man magically appears. One time Adam’s sidekick tiger disappears with him and all of sudden He-Man’s sidekick tiger shows up with him, then the next (and most egregious), a random wall pops up separating Adam and Teela, and 10 seconds later He-Man pushes down the wall with Adam nowhere in sight. Come on Teela, get with it.

    1. Any of the episodes with Count Marzo get a thumbs up from me.
I think he is the most overlooked villain in the series… and I still want an actual Filmation Count Marzo figure, something that has never been released.

I agree. We need Count Marzo Mattel!
