The new “Masters of the Universe” Movie will be featured in the April Edition of Empire Magazine!
Here are the official details, per Empire:
The new issue of Empire takes a world-exclusive deep-dive into Knight’s Masters Of The Universe, going on set to explore how the Laika legend is bringing the toys to life. Inside, the filmmaker opens up on staying true to the spirit of the cartoons, and anchoring He-Man and his bone-headed nemesis Skeletor in contemporary concerns.
Plus, we speak to He-Man himself, Nicholas Galitzine, about taking on the ‘80s most pumped-up hero; Idris Elba about his affection for the original figurines; Camila Mendes about bringing Teela into a more modern world; and the film’s crew about rendering Eternia in full scale. Plus, it’s packed with brand new images and concept art – the ultimate early peek at this summer’s most playful blockbuster.
Now there will be two covers to choose from, a newsstand cover where He-Man, Teela, Man-At-Arms, and Cringer are ready for action….

And a subscriber cover featuring Castle Grayskull, illustrated by artist Max Loffler.

Empire Magazine’s “Masters Of The Universe” issue will hit newsstands on Thursday February 12th.
We’ll see you next time!

These covers look great. I can’t wait to read it.
Teela has blue eyes in that cover shot, which makes me wonder if Camila Mendes will be wearing contacts in the film (she didn’t in the trailer)
@durendal I saw blue eyes in the trailer dude. Try zooming in when Teela is fighting Lyn. It’s kind of dark but you can tell Teelas got a set of blues.
Finally! 😆 Now I have to figure out how to get that subscriber cover here in the US. 🤔
That Adam shot tells me what I was assuming was correct in that the teaser showed us 2 separate instances and acts of Adam transforming into He-Man: from taking out the Skelegoons and confronting Skeletor at Snake Mountain to the duel in Castle Grayskull. Proving it won’t be a case of “seeing He-Man in the last 10 minutes of the movie".
You can ask if subscribing today gets you that cover or you look for it later on ebay.
Yeah you can subscribe now and get it but…that’s $107. lol I just settled and ordered the one issue.
Going by past releases Empire will release new stills and interview snippets over the next few days as well as talk about their visit in the podcast. Lots to digest until it hits shelves, right before Toy Fair too.
Contemporary concerns and a more modern world… could you just not with that shit? Don’t even make the vaguest suggestion of modernity, it only ever gets one reaction online from franchise nerds rightly burned out by every burnt out franchise attempting the same thing. These are still your paying customers.
Unless it really is a comedy and the Eternian war is about tariffs and the price of eggs…
@sketchyskeletor Nah, I wouldn’t worry. That is how they promote new movies about old things. Some people became angry over the same things with Superman but it wasn’t in the movie. It’s just talk.
Yup, fully agree (it’s always the same), but the damage by then is already done. Whether anybody likes it or not these bloody quotes get millions of views with negative connotations attached because why on Earth wouldn’t you talk about the actual world you’ve created onscreen instead of lying about it? Makes no sense.
Not a bad deal when you remember you are getting 13 issues not just the motu issue.
The second cover should be evil warriors.
Nice!
I’ll have to hit up the newsstand next Thursday!
I still have my Masters of the Universe Magazine movie issue with Dolph on the cover! 🙂
