OUR REVIEW:
There is plenty of unexplored potential in this uneven episode that takes too long to reach the main event (transporting He-Man inside a video game.) The interesting visuals, the evil Negator and the way the villian is powered up by "Nerbs" pushes this story above your average fare. (6/10)

Tomorrow’s Episode is: “Eye of the Beholder”

This is a fun but not spectacular episode. The plot of He-Man in a video game is an entertaining one. Negator is a standard Filmation “non Skeletor” villain. Decent, but nothing really remarkable (or a toy I’d want as a kid). He-Man and Ram-Man in the game is one of my earliest memories of the show (and of my earliest period).
I also really like the Battlecat/Ram-Man pairing in this, they’re fun to play off of each other and I wish we got a little more in the series.
It’s not worth recommending but it’s a fun enough episode. I’m sure Negator is alive but I’d like to know if those blue Shadow Weavers are dead. They look like they died.
@northerner Negator shows up again next season in “Trouble’s Middle Name” – I can’t remember if the shadow things are back, it’s been awhile since I’ve rewatched that one (it’s a pretty terrible episode)
Negator deserved better.
@northerner To me they looked like Jawas from Star Wars.
Average episode. Nothing too special. All I can comment with is another Simpsons reference
The writer’s room in 1983 when pitching this episode:
3 stars. Better episode than I remember it being. Negator is a fine villan but is no skeletor.
