OUR REVIEW:
While a statue oddly causing Shokoti's demise (we thought light was her kryptonite) and keeping the whole event secret from Melaktha prevents this from being a perfect episode, the delightful Ram Man, the creepy sometimes suggestive material and the glorious Lovecraftian monsters make this one a winner. (9/10)

  1. This is a top five episode of mine, and one I absolutely loved as a kid. For me, it’s the scariest episode of the series and the only one where the villain was so strong and scary that I though He-Man could actually die (as a kid). Shokoti is a wonderful villain, she’s actually somewhat nice with Stanlin but you learn from the get go this is not someone to screw around with. Her voice when she shouts “Get them!" during the rescue still gives me chills.

I’m also a huge fan of the He-Man theme, and when it’s playing during the final battle is one of my favorite uses of it. You’ve gone through the whole episode feeling like the heroes are overmatched and doomed, and then our hero comes in and saves the day, actually putting fear into Shokoti with his act. This is an episode I can watch over and over again and it absolutely does not get old.

  2. Part 2 is one of the best episodes ever made. This was so scary when I was child. Everything was extra dark which is why Stanlin had to use a flashlight. All the monsters were terrifying even that awful giant rat. The big statue squishing the sleeping beast is gross. This the stuff I wanted to see as a kid but normally wasn’t allowed to. Mom didn’t see this one coming. It made great memories and I still love it today. 10/10

  3. Now I’m gonna say my opinion regarding both parts together
I think it’s great except the fact that they made some random kid a major focus in this epic adventure. Not an annoying kid character but would he have really been important to the story? They could’ve just had Orko in his role, who legit kinda did nothing here.
Gonna be real maybe I wasn’t 100% paying attention while watching. I’m tired rn.
I think it would’ve been interesting if Masque and Trap Jaw were involved in the second part, maybe assisting Shokoti.

    like Shokoti as a villain.

also some Ram Man spotlight that’s nice.
wouldn’t say this two parter is in my favorites (I’m recording what episodes I think are the best) but it comes close.
