“MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE” (2026) Film Composer Daniel Permberton tells fans the score will be “crazy” and they won’t let us down

Last weekend we reported that composer Daniel Permberton‘s new project was scoring original music for the new “Masters of the Universe” Movie.

Well today, Daniel took to X to reassure fans the duty of creating the music to He-Man’s long awaited triumphant return to the silver screen was in safe hands.

Here is what he had to say:

DANIEL PEMBERTON:
"It has been SO GREAT to see the excitement for the #MastersOfTheUniverse trailer - almost at 30 million views on YouTube alone (!!!)..

Score is going to be crazy. We will not let you down! ⚔️"

The big question is will Daniel incorporate original themes from the classic Filmation cartoon “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” into his score, like the logo reveal video did.

We shall see, but there are a lot of fans that certainly hope so!

  1. I’m actually not sure about incorporating the Filmation score into the movie itself… Some of the fighting looks quite serious and I worry it’ll make it goofy. The melodic parts of the original score are so happy fun cheerful.

I guess he can rework it to be more serious, but it needs a careful approach.
I like the composer in Revelation, and of course in the original He-Man movie– Conan The Barbarian 😁

  2. “We will not let you down." = extensive use of iconic Filmation score

That better be exactly what he’s implying with his statement. Filmation is by far the most memorable theme music for MOTU, to this very day. Thankfully we’ve heard snippets of it in the teasers, so that gives me hope this guy will be smart enough to use it in the film. It would be a brilliant way to erase the awful mistakes of past MOTU media neglecting the theme that everyone loves.
