OUR REVIEW:
While the episode starts out strong with a spooky castle and a 200 year old legend about a couple that uses evil magic to steal energy from trees, the writing eventually is sapped of its energy as well, only resulting in slightly better than average fare. (6/10)

  1. This is a solid episode. It’s not one that you immediately remember, but I think it’s solid throughout. I love getting to hear George Dicenzano (sp?) in the MOTU lore prior to playing Hordak.

They do a great job on the spooky factor of this one too. I like how you get to see Tyrin before his transformation, it’s scary enough as is but you get to see how far zombified he got.

I also love the detail of He-Man going back to save the snake, just a quick and small nod to how he’s always the 10/10 hero. Not a classic, but certainly a very good episode.

  2. Happy new year y’all.

I’m gonna be honest this might be the first episode where I don’t have anything to say because I wasn’t paying much attention other than of the basic story beats. Was preoccupied with my social media, basically multi-tasking.
Nothing good, nothing bad, I wouldn’t necessarily say boring just didn’t really catch my eyes that much.

  3. I love this episode. The flying horses were a great precursor to Swift Wind. Lord Tyrin and Lady Valtira remind me of vampires where they sleep in wide coffins and instead of sucking blood they suck plant energy. Going after plants must have not made them too evil. Demos and Tyrella would never change to good like that. 9/10
