OUR THOUGHTS:
Check your brain at the door! A tale where Orko blows up a castle and He-Man laughs, this mind numbingly written episode teaches viewers that both an evil wizard and captain of the guards can be thwarted with tablecloths. Can we recommend this episode? Hickory dickory no. (3/10)

  1. My love of this show makes it so hard to ever apply criticism to it, but this is an episode that’s just bad and hard to defend. And while this isn’t so much a criticism, I’m also amused at a show were continuity is relatively light that they produced Montork’s second episode before his first (although they aired in order).

The villains overall are interesting/better than some of your generic “non-Skeletor" Filmation villains, but that doesn’t help them gain much ground here. I respect how they worked around the violence code – not letting He-Man punch people directly in the face etc…., but defeating Azrog by throwing a tablecloth over his head and having him just sit there is crazy even by this show’s standards.

Montork is a fun character though, I’m glad they used him here and there throughout the entire show’s run (and She-Ra too!)

  2. I love this show but this particular episode is so stupid it makes my brain hurt. No wonder I never go back to it. Everyone behaved stupidly.
Teela can’t move because there is a blanket on her and then Montork can’t move because he had a blanket on him.
He-Man traps Montork’s dragon in a bag and of course the dragon doesn’t grow big to escape.
Montork floats in the air and He-Man says that’s enough out of you and pulls him down and then let’s him be and is surprised he still causes trouble.
Instead of making himself float again Montork makes his chair float so He-Man can toss Teela in the air to grab his foot and pull him down from the floating chair.
Then there is Orko’s magic. So let me get this straight. Orko creates an explosion the size of a ten ton bomb. He-Man kind of hugs Teela to protect her and she’s unhurt and also they are okay with this?
I know there is more stupid stuff but I already forgot. God this one is awful. That’s the grade I’m giving it. A for awful.

  3. “Return of Orko’s Uncle"?
I know that this whole episode watch-a-thon is in production order, but did they really produce Montark’s 2nd appearance episode that soon BEFORE his debut episode had even aired?
I wouldn’t say this episode is bad, rather just another whatever one in my opinion. Though I find this one at least more entertaining than Song of Celice because I love Orko.
Even the voice acting, which I usually find one of the strongest aspects of this show feels a bit phoned in at points here.
Also I love Azrog because he straight up feels like a rejected boss villain from a Crash Bandicoot game.

  4. First let me say I like this episode although I do realize it has some weaknesses and and it is sillier than other episodes. Sometimes it feels like a parody of a normal episode and maybe that is why I like it. Orko is really funny in this I MEAN REALLY FUNNY and I also like that the villians feel like they left a different cartoon and jumped into Eternia. I know most see that as a goofy thing but to me it makes this episode feel more unique. It might not be for everyone but it is for me. 6/10
