Back in 2002, “Free Comic Book Day” was launched in North America to attract new readers to comic book stores by offering free comics!

Held annually for over twenty years, the name “Free Comic Book Day” was owned by the now defunct Diamond Distributors, so to get around that legality, Penguin Distributors celebrates the same day as “Comics Giveaway Day“.

And among the free comics offered in 2026, will be a Masters of the Universe and Dungeons & Dragons combined book (not combined stories) and the He-Man story will be written by Tim Seeley with artist Andrew Krahnke! Check out the brief solicitation:
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe/Dungeons & Dragons CGD 2026
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe/Dungeons & Dragons CGD 2026 (stories respectively by Tim Seeley & Andrew Krahnke, and Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing & Alessandro Miracolo)

So be on the look out for this free comic on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at your local comic book shop!
We’ll see you next time!

So… will it be like a normal MOTU comic but we will see Skeletor fumble by constantly rolling 1 on a d20 and D&D stats for the Sword of Power?
Or will MOTU chars visit one/some of the many Planets/Planes of Existence under the D&D cosmology umbrella?
Will it end with a Roboto monolouge?"I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Lizardmen Squid ships on fire off the shoulder of the Tears of Selune. I watched bolts of lighning cast in the dark near the Sigil gate to Mechanus. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."😜 Snark aside I’m curious 🙂 But whomever promoted it simply as “D&D" crossover made it almost as exiting as promoting it as “will be printed on paper" considering how either simple or complicated the vastness of D&D can turn out to be.
