Red Shadow is coming!

Mattel Creations has just teased a new addition to their Masters of the Universe: Origins (Vintage) Action Figure Line!

Part of the “The Powers of Grayskull” subline, here is what Mattel had to say to Club Grayskull members:

You’ve heard the whispers from a previous Creations exclusive…

The newest members only “Powers of Grayskull” figure is emerging from the mists of Preternia to battle evil. Here's a sneak peek ahead of our upcoming launch:

What Mattel is teasing is Red Shadow, one of Axel Gimenez’s concepts from the older Masters of the Universe “Classics” action figure line that was never produced.

If you recall, fans already received a tease of the Red Shadow in the packaging artwork for the Masters of the Universe: Origins (Vintage) Moss Man figure!

And now, finally, Red Shadow will be a reality… coming Tuesday, November 18th!

  3. CLASSICS LIVES!!! (kinda)
    I’m always excited to see new characters from Classics that didn’t get figures back in the day. I know Red Shadow is one of Axel’s favorites, so I bet he’s happy finally seeing him realized. This, along with the leaked GB Wizard proto gives me hope that we’ll see more of these guys make it to figure form. I’m still rooting for Bandwidth!

      I’m always excited to see new characters from Classics that didn’t get figures back in the day. I know Red Shadow is one of Axel’s favorites, so I bet he’s happy finally seeing him realized. This, along with the leaked GB Wizard proto gives me hope that we’ll see more of these guys make it to figure form. I’m still rooting for Bandwidth!

    1. Who the fuck is this guy anyway?

      Red Shadow appeared (briefly, from behind) in the second MOTU Classics mini-comic. Axel Gimenez later produced some official art of him from the front, which is either in the post or easily found. He was part of the Preternian Masters and wears a mask that may be related to the Masks of Power. Apparently, he has a tragic backstory (that we never learned) and if had a toy in the 80s it would have had a heat sensitive stripe design on his back. Gimenez seems really fond of him and has drawn some fanart pieces, and even put him on Moss Man’s package art.
