SUCCESS! First Goal Unlocked for MOTUNIVERSE plus three guests are announced!

The Fans have unlocked the Power!

The Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the ultimate He-Man and She-Ra fan celebration “MOTUNIVERSE” launched yesterday at 3:00PM EST / 12:00PM PST, and within its fifth hour, successfully funded its first goal.

The “Torrance Marriott” in Redondo Beach, California has the power, is fully funded and will be the place for the ultimate Masters of the Universe celebratory convention next year.

But the Kickstarter campaign for MOTUNIVERSE has only begun and needs your help to unlock stretch goals to fund expanded floor space, high profile guests and more! You can support the Kickstarter campaign HERE!

In regards to celebrity appearances, MOTUNIVERSE has announced three featured guests of honor prior to the launch of the crowdfunding campaign (with many more to come). They are:

Tony Washington

2024 Eisner Award Winner and Adobe Community Expert Member, Tony Washington is a San Diego-based concept artist, illustrator and music producer with 30 years of professional experience in comics, video games and animated feature films. Masters of the Universe Fans will recognize Tony’s work on Icons of Evil: MermanRise of the Snakemen, and the Masters of The Universe Comic Books for MVCreations. Some of the companies he’s had the honor of working with are Konami, DC, Blizzard Entertainment, Upperdeck, Sony VASG, Rainmaker Entertainment, Riot Games, Imagi Animation Studios, Midway Games, among others. He’s also the lead illustrator for the ACLU of San Diego/Imperial Counties and a Senior Illustrator / Concept Artist for various other entertainment-based studios.

Joshua Sky

Originally from Maui, Hawaii, Joshua Sky is currently a writer for He-Man and the Masters of the UniverseThe Powers of GrayskullShe-Ra, Forbidden Futures as well as Heavy Metal Illustrated. He has written for Marvel Entertainment, Humanoids, Motherboard, Assemble Media, Sci-Futures, Sun-Man, Hot Wheels and Cartoon Network’s Ben 10. He served in the writer’s room for the Emmy-Award-winning animated series, Niko and the Sword of Light. Joshua has also written for major theatrical campaigns, like: The Predator and Deadpool 2. 

Joshua has worked extensively in licensing for both Marvel Comics and Walt Disney Publishing.

William Stout

Artist William Stout has worked with Russ Manning, Harvey Kurtzman, Will Elder, Jean “Moebius” Giraud, Will Eisner, Jack Kirby, and Al Williamson. His studio mates included Dave Stevens and Paul Chadwick. Bill co-founded the Comic Art Professional Society and was their tenth president. He created the iconic Wizards movie poster, then worked on over 70 movies, including Return of the Living Dead and Masters of the Universe The Motion Picture. He helped Pan’s Labyrinth win two Oscars. Michael Crichton claimed Stout’s dinosaur reconstructions inspired Jurassic Park. Bill’s 50-year career overview, Fantastic Worlds: The Art of William Stout (2018), precedes a Flesk Publications box set collecting Stout’s comics-related work. Upcoming is a volume on his work in underground comix, to be published by Last Gasp.
