“With ‘Masters of the Universe,’ we're creating an epic, cinematic experience that honors the property's rich history while blazing new creative territory."
These are the words of Greg Coleman, Global Head of Integrated Marketing at Amazon MGM Studios.

His statement and more was released with the announcement that Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel will be the keynote speakers this October at Brand Licensing Europe, a meeting place for the licensing industry to bring together owners, licensees and retailers for deal making that ultimately brings fans official licensed product to purchase.
Here are the details:

- Keynote will highlight ‘A legend reborn: Reimagining Masters of the Universe’
- BLE takes place 7-9 October 2025, Excel London
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM / ACCESS Newswire / June 30, 2025 / Mattel and Amazon MGM Studios are confirmed to present the opening day keynote at this year’s Brand Licensing Europe (BLE), which runs 7-9 October 2025 at Excel London.
‘A legend reborn: Reimagining Masters of the Universe’ (1:30pm, 7 October) will unpack the strategy and storytelling behind the Masters of the Universe franchise revival in an exclusive keynote tracing the project from script to future shelves ahead of next summer’s Masters of the Universe movie release directed by Travis Knight and starring Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man
Coleman continued:
"At BLE, we're excited to offer an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how we're bringing Eternia to life through state-of-the-art filmmaking. Together with our partners at Mattel, we'll showcase this world to both longtime fans and new generations through exciting licensing and brand opportunities.”
Josh Silverman, EVP and Chief Franchise Officer of Mattel had this to say to License Global:
"We’re at a pivotal moment for Masters of the Universe, not just launching a major motion picture but reigniting a multi-generational franchise through a fully integrated brand strategy."

"At BLE, we’ll take the audience behind the curtain on how Mattel and Amazon Studios have come together to create something truly ambitious. It’s about more than nostalgia – it’s about tapping into enduring fan love, layering in modern storytelling, and scaling that through entertainment, consumer products, retail, and experiences.
"Our goal is to build a franchise with staying power, and BLE will be the first major step in revealing that vision to the industry.”
We’ll see you next time.

Yay! We’ll get to see BTS!! THIS IS AWESOME!! I hope they reveal the full designs and cast. Hopefully voice actors for Orko and Cringer/Battlecat. I hope we see every character from the vintage line (not including the Snakemen, the Horde, PoP) I can’t wait to see the Sorceress. Everybody keeps on saying she looks really cool.
Reading this press release, I really feel like with the extreme exception of Disney, Hollywood is finally mostly starting to get the hang of how to adapt a beloved IP because with a lot of newer film/TV adaptations they get people who actually grew up with/at least really understand the source material very well and this movie will be yet another example.
The recent Mario and Mortal Kombat movies compared to the ones from the 90s Need I say more? Though with Mario it was mostly down to Nintendo actually having creative say but still.
Mostly video game movies because this generation of filmmakers actually grew up as gamers but also things like Transformers and TMNT.
I am thankful to live in a timeline where Sonic is the first game franchise in history to get a whole film trilogy and a good one at that.
Mattel seems to have this mindset with their films going forward of respecting their brand’s legacies. This upcoming movie may have been in development hell since around ‘09 or so but I think it’s finally coming out at the exact right time.
I really hope this includes full-fledged MOTU video games on the consoles!
