Today at Brand Licensing Europe, Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel keynote speakers Ruth Henriquez (Mattel) and Greg Coleman (Amazon) presented “A Legend Reborn: Reimagining Masters of the Universe” discussing their strategy behind their revival of the Masters of the Universe franchise. Attendees were not only treated to information about the film, but was also shown concept art of Snake Mountain... home to the villainous, Evil Lord of Destruction, Skeletor! Check it out: And here are some highlights of what the keynote speakers had to say of the upcoming "Masters of the Universe" Movie: Why now? “The property has never gone…
We have the Power!
I mean, “concepts” can be explorative and don’t have to appear in the movie… but I do like what he says.
I have high hopes it’ll be a fun film and since I’ve become a fan of Adam since MOTU:R, I think I’ll have a good time with his story!
I’ll see it as a new iteration. If people can have love for the `87 film, which is SO different, I hope people will have love for this version, too.
It would be so nice to get new people interested in our beloved Eternian world!
My inner child is jumping for joy right now and my real children are jumping for real.
It looks like they'll finally do the long suffering fandom right and give us what we were all expecting in 1987...
The artwork looks incredible and if they realize that in the film then Holy moly.
Little disappointed with BLE and the keynote as a whole, the press release seemed to hint at more of Mattel laying out their plans surrounding the film with peeks but they only showcased the artwork and didn't really say a whole lot. We honestly got more information in the interview published over the weekend.
Looks like a mixture between the 200x and vintage design. The vintage set was really wide and the spire is straight from 200x. Hopefully the movie is good
Look closely. It looks like two people are standing on the tongue. Skeletor and Evil-Lyn?
If this is concept art they will show, chances are it may not be in the movie, BUT if the concept art is thisnon point, imagin what it will be for other set pieces.
They are also starting to make it clear that this will be a new iteration, an on point for everyone, earth may actually have a point to play. Be we are on eternia for 2 acts.
@mungosmungo8694 I think most people will take 2 acts on Eternia and be satisfied with it.
Does anybody have a production weekly account? Looks like last week's edition (2nd Oct) has a record for "Masters of the Universe 2"
Production Weekly just posts bogus info behind paywalls. Never forget how they used to keep posting the Nee Brothers were filming MOTU in Prague when they never even had a cast. lol
