"She-Ra and the Princesses of Power" is departing from Netflix in 2026. A reboot produced by DreamWorks Animation Television for the streaming service Netflix, this 2018 series will see its last day on February 21, 2026 per What's on Netflix. Not an unusual fate for a series that Netflix does not own outright, shows based on licensed product have seen their exclusive term end on Netflix before (like Marvel's "Daredevil" for instance which now streams on Disney+.) "Daredevil" ended its run on Netflix and now streams on Disney+ Did the streaming service Netflix have an opportunity to renew their exclusive…
We have the Power!
Aww man, that's my favorite. And they only released the first few seasons on DVD. 🙁
You’re welcome for the heads up and I’m just gonna go on a rant
F**k Netflix. F**k Ted Sarandos and most of all f**k David Zaslav for slowly trying to destroy the entertainment industry. I could go into more detail about this specific aspect but it involves politics and I know these forums aren’t the place for real world political opinions
a while back I was starting to watch the 2021 series, was 1/4 or so through it and was liking it then the news of the WB acquisition came out then I just stopped because I want to boycott them. Thank god the whole series is already on DVD. May continue it when I feel like it.
She-Ra 2018 was the first piece of MOTU I really consumed. I watched it and saw the finale when it came out and while I didn’t join the MOTU fandom for some more years, I only got in around March or April of this year and have consumed a ton of content and have collected a shit and I MEAN a shit ton of figures, it did give me a great first impression of at least part of the franchise.
these versions of the She-Ra cast are my ideal versions of the characters. The 200x cast are my ideal versions of the He-Man characters. Both are my favorite MOTU shows.
recently rewatched the show and while I found a few flaws I kinda have with it (Not thinking Catra really deserved redemption that much, Hordak not being in a real fight and utilizing powers despite being the main antagonist for most of the show and he or Adora/She-Ra barely interacting, still my favorite MOTU character no matter the continuity.) I still love it. Entrapdak best couple.
I really hope ND Stevenson and some of the crew are dialing up some of their connections at Dreamworks or Mattel right now to attempt to do something to salvage a wide release of the show.
physical media FTW. I have non-American, but English region free blu-Rays of Balto, Speed Racer and Super Mario Bros. (1993) of which I recently have a fondness for despite it being nothing I grew up with involving the Bros.
All of which are never on a consistent streaming service or understandably the latter, is never on a streaming service
Streaming sounded so good at first, now we see the uglier sides of it: pushing commercials, raising prices, and deleting content so they don’t have to pay royalties etc, probably to save storage / hosting costs.
The bad thing is this show is not fully available on physical media, only the first few seasons. With this, the last two seasons would disappear completely, not available anywhere.
I loved this show, even as a traditionalist, I just saw it as a new thing.
I’d even love to see a film follow-up, because I’d love to see adventures of Catradora actually being together.
@cosmic Did you see the Masters of the Universe Revelation and Masters of the Universe Revolution steelbook? They did it right that time and released it on physical media only they need to do it again. It costs $200 to buy one on EBAY which is ridiculous. My point is they should do a steelbook for this She-Ra series too. It is the right thing to do.
Exactly what happened to Netflix and Dreamworks Voltron: Legendary Defender, including the incomplete home release.
This just sucks.
SUCKS! (for those in the back)
Agreed. Giant meh. Got maybe 4 episodes in and grew uninterested. It was an opportunity to really explore more from the 80s stories with the same type of vibe just modernized. Plus I wasn't into the whole Cal Arts look of the show.
I don't want Netflix She-Ra to be taken away, I love that series and we don't even have Seasons 4 & 5 on DVD yet (although I do have Seasons 1 - 3 on DVD).

Yea, the only difference I would say is Dreamworks has still been using this show in recent social media posts and videos. They celebrated the 7th year anniversary of it debuting just this Nov and even a week ago had it on their naughty and nice list for their holiday video they dropped.
I liked this show, only found out this reboot was even a thing because of this announcement. Finished watching it just a few days ago.
Hopefully it gets another home and a proper release for the series and not just the seasons 1-3.
@johnnysilverhand didn't know they still used it. But then again, I don't use social media that much.
