Yesterday we shared an image of our best look yet at actor Jon Xue Zhang as RAM MAN from the upcoming "Masters of the Universe" Movie courtesy of Empire Magazine. You may have noticed in our descriptor that we also mentioned the characters "Teela", "Dian" and "Mekaneck"... leaving some people to wonder... who was Dian? Meet Dian Dian will be played by actress Christiaan Bettridge... Actress Christiaan Bettridge ... and it is character that first debuted in the "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" newspaper comic strips of the 1980s. I remember ones like Prince Valiant but I never knew there was a black and white comic strip for He-Man. That is so cool!

Spectacular deep dive. The writer truly did their homework

My news didn't have He-Man either but Prince Valiant takes me back. I miss those days when life seemed simpler.

There is a Dark Horse book which collects all the MOTU newspaper strip comics. While the art can be rough on occasion the stories pure fun and basically a continuation of Filmation series. The writer definitely had passion for the franchise.

Seems like Dian does not have a very high opinion of He-Man either, or proper chain of command, lol. Will be interesting to see if her character is that insubordinate in the film. Maybe a Skeletor sympathizer... Ha! We’ve never really had any good traitors in the tv/movie versions yet. It’s always been pretty black and white as far as good side versus bad side. Revelations started to change that up a bit at least as far as bad becoming good but still no good becoming bad. At least as far as I can remember at the moment.
