I think this is all a big nothingburger. Skeletor is evil - of course he's going to display toxic attributes as part of his personality. Is that not obvious, lol? Similarly, Evil-Lyn personifies "toxic femininity". The heroes are the opposite examples. Ugh, how is this even a conversation? So many bored idiots out there digging into things that are meaningless.
Yup, that's exactly what I've been saying. Hell, even some of the Youtubers have said it. But just uttering it at all is a guaranteed way to lose money at the box office for a film with a crazy budget. They went from having a hit trailer that got people talking to 'Yeah, you can stick that up your Fright Zone" in every single comment section. Even a percentage of those people not buying in for the opening weekend can become critical because Travis' bullshit now needs fought with word of mouth.
The potential customers are so anti-agenda now that this crap should never be brought up. Not even as a pronoun joke and certainly not as buzzword bingo while your race-swapping and arguing it's all just like you remember it. I've said it before, record your own promos on the set and distribute them exclusively or whatever in such a way as to build hype over time. Jesus, you'll save a fortune too.
Something I only found out with the last James Bond movie - these 200 million dollar productions are typically funded with loans, which means there's mad interest to be paid and the opening weekend is crucial to helping stop the bleeding.
