Hey all! Thought I'd introduce myself around here. I'm Adekis.
I've been a casual-to-moderate fan for probably close to 25 years, since the MYP show came out when I was a kid, which really got me excited at the time, and I still have a lot of fondness for it! I realize that being in my early 30s probably makes me a kid in comparison to a lot of the Original Generation of fans, but I had exposure to the old school too.
I watched a ton of the Filmation shows on "Qubo Night Owl" as a teen, and bought a handful of MOTUC figures in my early college years (I've attached an old picture). Read a fair amount of "Mini-Eternia" fan fiction back then too, haha...
I bought the Minicomic Collection that Dark Horse put out, and had an account on "the Org" forums too. Now I've been drawn back into the fold, probably like a lot of people, by hopes and fears about the upcoming movie, a film that I remember being in development hell for the better part of 20 years itself! Man.
Hope to have a good time here with all of you! 😁
Welcome back to the fandom. This must be very exciting for you considering your first show was 200X. Now you're back and there is not only a movie coming but two different companies making 200X action figures. What a time to come back!
Welcome aboard, mate! So 200X is what one may consider your own "Motu Vintage," by definition, which is some pretty good school where you can start studying this exciting franchise.
Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! 😁

Thanks @samuel ! It is exciting!
I did consider getting the Mondo 200X He-Man, but I worry it might be, er, too expensive, and out of scale with any other toy I'm likely to get. Only FOMO has me wondering if I should get it after all, and the fact it looks to be possibly the coolest He-Man toy I've ever seen in my life. 😅 But that's cold hard cash!
I did order the Keldor / Kronis "Rise of Evil" two-pack though. That's from Mattel's 5in "Origins" line, right? I'm looking forward to getting them!
As for the movie, the trailer definitely sparked my interest in MOTU back up, but I've got, you know, hopes and fears, as ever!
I wonder if for a series as... fragmented as MOTU has been, whether it's even possible to please all the fans...

Thanks @onlyoneskeletor ! I had wanted to start re-watching the MYP show, but bam! They take it off Amazon Prime, haha! What timing. I'll have to dig out my dvds if I want to watch it again, and unfortunately, I never owned the complete series! Oh well; they still have Filmation at least. That'll be fun.
As for "studying" the franchise, you're kinda not kidding! In terms of learning this history, it kind of IS like casual studying for fun!
I started reading through the "Battle Ram" blog for history on the development on the series and I learned so much I never knew before! For example: that before his first appearance in DC Comics Presents # 47, Prince Adam was originally developed by Mark Taylor as a separate character from He-Man! I knew He-Man wasn't always Adam, but I had no idea that Adam wasn't always He-Man! And there's all sorts of interesting early-series development facts I didn't know about until now. The whole "Torak" thing... fascinating, to be honest!
