The cover art for the new, highly anticipated console video game titled "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction" has been revealed! Illustrated by the talented artist Freddie Williams II, the original pencil artwork for this exciting new video game art was designed on 22 x 17 inch paper (in the hopes that the finished artwork would not only be used on the physical game packaging, but blown up to poster size as well.) Coming from Bitmap Bureau and Limited Run Games, "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction" is scheduled to…

I gotta be honest I don't think that style particularly works for the characters in the comics much less as a video game cover. They look strung out! And it'd be an idea to have focused on He-Man (or even Skeletor) alone or go all-in and have the characters fighting.

If nothing else, unless they change it, the characters are almost all squeezed into the lower half of a small disc box, though I know that's less of a consideration these days.

I have had many discussions on this topic. There is a consensus that Freddie William's art style does not mesh well with MotU. Somehow he still gets the work.

Yeah, a snarling monster doesn't strictly do Beastman justice never mind Trap Jaw here. Evil-Lyn has always been more composed than what we see here too. And so on. My guess is it's what's somebody decided on as opposed to what the characters need.

Goodness gracious! Freddie has done it again! No offence, but can't we just see what's going on? We're in a bind because it looks like he's going to stick around for the long haul. Leaving his marks pretty much anywhere he can.

Why didn't they ask Francisco Etchart? This game is very Filmationlike and the art Francisco does for the Cartoon Collection is perfect.

Fully agree, the cover art is wildly different to the actual game art. It's conveying a whole other attitude.

I like the art. Freddie is one of my favorite Turtles artists so I smile whenever he pops up.

I can't really play video games much anymore because of arthritic hands, but I can't miss this one!❤️

I would love a new Masters Of The Universe game with my favourite character Evil-Lyn, Sorceress Of Night & Evil Warrior Goddess!❤️

Apparently it's getting a physical release first which is much better than gamers are used to. Now if only that wasn't by Limited Run Games... 'early 2026' is as good as the estimate gets. Believe it only when you see it.

Since there apparently won't be a physical PS4 release because of Sony's bullshit I'll be waiting on a discounted digital copy because I fucking hate digital chicanery.

As long as its good and cheap. Bitmap's new Terminator game got a physical release. The reviews rock but 60 bucks for a 2d game is crazy.

Tell me about it, I bought it off Amazon and immediately returned it because the game isn't even on the disc and it's yet another one where it needs patched anyway. There's entire sections where the controls go wonky (jumping especially) and the 'lose all your lives in a shocking driving section' is 90s in the worst possible way. At least allow people to save. Garbage, and game reviews are just as tainted as the movies.

Yours is the first real negativity I came across bro other then it being too expensive and too short. I'm still going to buy it but only when the price has come down.

@he-dad Basically it's got deadly sections that will mean you'll have to start the game all over again because you're out of lives and they can't have you reaching the end in half an hour.

The game has loads of half ideas jumbled in. The levels have a reasonably tight timer for instance but letting you explore obviously would have stretched the game out!

Once you've reached a level you can train in it through the options section and obviously it's because they know the lives thing is designed to dump you right back at the beginning. There's no actual level select or anything, you just play all the same levels again cursing the inability to jump properly.

It's not remotely worth the 30 bucks or whatever on PS Store and the reviews should have pointed that out, but they were afraid of the initial positive reaction the game got. The cost of it should plummet in no time once actual gamers realise they've been had. Even at that, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is massively discounted already and it's actually good! With T2D I wouldn't pay anything more than 10 bucks, it's essentially an indie game with a licence.
