Mattel has a sweet set up at Toy Fair. I wonder what's inside Castle Grayskull? 🤔
So now, as a consolation for all we hadn't and probably won't see during this NYTF, we are granted an exclusive, direct review by Pixel Dan of both He-Man and Battle Cat (Chronicles). Well done, Mattel. That's fair.

These do look pretty great. Both sculpting and engineering seem top notch.
He says it’s 6.5… that would be Classics size I believe. Slightly above even. Definitely above (regular) Marvel Legends, while the same size as Mattel’s planned DC figures?
Edit: Never mind, I know nothing about scales lol. The Classics I just grabbed are 7 inches !? Whiplash and Plundor. Coulda sworn the earlier Classics were shorter.
The Marvel Legends I found real quick were 6.5 and 6.25, male and female respectively. Though ofc much slimmer than Classics (with the exception of the “bigger bucks” ofc).
@onlyoneskeletor The mask is quite different. Looks probably best together with its own He-Man, which is something I’m considering.
Not gonna lie... those are some nice looking figures.
I like the translucent red cross on the harness and Battle Cat's "glass" eyes... plus his whole face sculpt looks awesome.
Mattel went through a lot to engineer a brand new system of articulation... I just don't understand why they didn't make it for new waves of MV... or, at the very least, in the same scale?!?

"WHAT'S IN A NAME?"
First Ones. Kids. Core. Kid-Focused.
These figures have been called it all by Mattel and official retail listings with "Kid-Focused" as recent as 2 hours ago by Mattel. Until they unify their messaging across the board from Mattel to Retailers, we may be using multiple names so readers are always on the same page. 🙂
We have the Power!
Hmmm... maybe Mattel just means that these movie figures will be the 'first ones' to ship before the rest become available. 🤔

Isn't core just a generic term in the industry?
@he-mayon Yeah. Core is a general term. It's lower end. It's a classification. Core could be applied to Origins but not to Masterverse.
It's more to do with for whatever reason someone has an axe to grind over at the .org and ever since they tried to debunk Preternia and He-Mania's information that we were getting a new Chronicles line and a new First Ones line, only for them to be proven wrong time and again but they can't let it go. 😆
@dgsimo They started branding all their pics the original since 1997. It seems very insecure to do that. I think they wish He-Mania would go away. It's like they are saying we are back and the best now even though we are totally different people and don't resemble the old site.

We have a Chronicles checklist up! 😊

Also, what does everyone think about this thread? Should we separate it into two individual threads (Chronicles and Kids) or leave them together in one thread?

I think for now it's good as one thread until April and then split it when they start hitting shelves or split it now. After all we have separate threads for Origins and Masterverse.

I think is should be split eventually.
It seems like Chronicles and Kids Core might be the new Masterverse and Origins...

@he-mayon Core and Collector are classifications of toylines. They are not toyline names.
The Kids (Core First Ones) Figure and Toy checklist is up: 🙂

We have the Power!
The fact we're getting exclusive or specific releases not related to the film in the core line like today's Gold Skeletor likely points to the same thing possibly happening in the Chronicles line too at some point.
