@lasastard Many times, when doing digital scans of any kind, the human artist is needed to correct, adjust, etc Using just the machine can go wrong just like when you trace a photograph, the drawing can look weirdly off (while in the photo it looks fine!)
I don’t know their process, of course, but yeah, many times in such cases it can be more complicated than just pushing a couple buttons…
The Origins ladies will scale well with First Ones. Since they were too small in Origins.
A look at the terrific Masters of the Universe “Chronicles” Movie BATTLE CAT figure packaging illustration by artist Simon Eckert and courtesy of packaging design and art director Roy Juarez.

@admin I cannot wait to finally see He-Man riding Battle Cat in live action... on the big screen!
I really hope that there will be an "Art and Making of The Masters of the Universe movie" book! (Just looking at the artwork on the Chronicles packages makes me want to see all of the movie concept art!!!)

I mean, at this point these are digital scans so you don't need to be too impressed. I don't think there was an actual human sculptor involved apart from maybe cleaning up the scans and simplifying them a bit for production. That said, Hasbro (SW Black Series) has had some impressive examples of digital scans gone wrong, so there is that of course 😉
I don't care how they do it, as long as it looks good.
This is going to be THE face of He-Man for an entire generation of young moviegoers... I'm just glad that it looks as good as it does (if these early images hold up.)
Heck, this could be He-Man's look moving forward for all. Just look at how EVERY SINGLE VERSION of Iron Man / Tony Stark has looked like Robert Downey Jr. since 2008.

I could see them doing a follow-up Dark Horse book for the figures artwork at least. Those books are great.

Nice! These were being shared on the He-Mania social channels before the IGN story. $10.79 seems to be the official RrP for the figure assortment but my kid is gonna love these...the sword might be mine though. 😆
No playsets yet is a little disappointing to see.
That image link seems to be broken?HE-MAN. BEAST MAN. TEELA.
Collaging the terrific official promotional "Masters of the Universe" Movie imagery from the upcoming "First Ones" action figure line.
@dgsimo In the times we’re living in, $10+ is a steal… I mean, these are basically the newest iteration of Origins? I wonder if you can take them apart.., maybe not, to save money? No comic and only one weapon, that’s fair for the price.
Still surprised that these are basically a cheaper copy of the Chronicles. I had expected something more stylized, not so realistic. But hey, kids these days, maybe they don’t want “kiddie” stuff lol
Hmmm... is that "Powered Up" Skeletor a hint at what we might see in the movie?
And the claw marks on He-Man's shield... who made those?

I asked the same thing on a different forum...
If Mattel was wise, they would have ensured the First Ones were 100% compatible with the standard & CC Origins figures...

I believe someone asked the Spanish gentleman who got the early figures if it was possible and he said no, they didn't come apart.
@cosmic Oh man, this pseudo Roton... The charm of our vintage vehicles comes from the organic elements infused in them. Now, all you have is basically a flying saw that escaped its owner's vigilance (lol). 🤣
@onlyoneskeletor It does strongly remind me of one of the vehicles in the CGI He-Man Netflix show, the one that came with Trap-Jaw. At least I get some pleasure from seeing such cross-references.
Still considering getting that one for my Origins 😅
Yeah, that Roton redesign is a downgrade. It lost the uniquely Eternian elements and looks more like a generic Star Wars afterthought.
ALERT: Please be aware that someone took our real image of the Masters of the Universe “First Ones” SKEL-KNIGHT Action Figure and created AI versions of it. Those images (and its articulation) is not authentic.

"When I told you we were always doing lines in the 80s, this wasn't what I meant!"
@admin Also, what’s that thing? Really hard to tell…

Thanks! Masterversal Toyhunter had actually sent me these the night before and they have been a real head scratcher! I have seen elaborate knockoffs before so since "Mighty Masters" had a ( ™ ) next to it I searched the official gov trademark website and Mattel doesn’t own "Mighty Masters". A company called Alpha Group had the Mighty Masters TM application then abandoned it.
Hopefully I am being too stupidly overly careful, but I asked Jay to ask Mattel (he's at Toy Fair right now) to confirm they are legit before reporting on it.🙂
