@smitty-81 The one I’d still love to see is comparison with that Vintage Origin He-Man… because that should be pretty close in height… but Origins is probably much wider.

TNI had one more pic up from Spain, from that shelf at the store. The 200x has some extra height due to the built in plastic… “stand” area… First Ones feet area is hidden.
Obviouspy, 200X is taller than Vintage Origins, with longer underarms etc

Do we think they'll have the wit to put the movie figures in Origins at that 5.5 or close to 6 inch scale?

While I love the designs myself 'skinny' He-Man reminds me of poor old New Adventures struggling.

@sketchyskeletor that would be a good way to keep Origins going but they still have a lot the pull from for that.

But we have another thread for Origins.

Not to continue with Origins topics here, I think the vehicles / beasts from the “First Ones” could work with some of the various Origins iterations, too.

He’s slimmer than Vintage He-Man, but for some collectors, they will be ok mixing the two. Not everyone is so precise about their scales / sizes on their shelf.

I mostly like the price of these First Ones.

That Chronicles Battle CAT will also be interesting to see with other MOTU lines / sizes. It looks very good with its He-Man.

10 bucks, if true, seems like pretty aggressive pricing. Even origins was, what, 14.99 at launch? But me thinks they may be pulling the trigger a tad to fast if these are already hitting shelves. The movie is still months away. Surely it would be better to time release of the figures with the release of the movie? Stores are not known for tolerating inventory just sitting on the shelves for months on end.

@lasastard

I just had a horrible thought. Mattel hasn't announced these yet. What if these figures are AI and it fooled the whole community?

Yeah, even the Chronicles stuff is listed as April in the UK.

On the other hand, a three figure wave doesn't take up much space and it gets kids excited for the movie. It might drum up some more interest across school playgrounds right before summer break.

Gotta catch those young ones while they're all together!

Gotta say... I really like what I'm seeing here.

Especially when compared to some earlier offerings:

This team seems to do better work... even if it is computer-assisted.

@admin Man-At-Arms Face looks kinda long, and I’m still not sure about the expression. Might depend on the angle, though.

I do really like the oxidation on his armor. Nice touch.

I  really do feel for the designers. They got a ton of shit when they tried to give He-man a new face in Origins and Masterverse. And when they later back-paddled and tried to scale up the vintage face in Masterverse, people still complained 😀 I mean, I have both the vintage He-man and MV Thunderpunch He-man here on the shelf. It's not too far off, honestly.

lol I had that fear too when I sent them to AJ but the fact someone here was able to take the barcode from the back art and scan it to show up in Target's system as real fortunately quelled those fears.

If the figures are true to these early images, then I am really impressed with Mattel's efforts on their likenesses / quality of the sculpts.

I mean, at this point these are digital scans so you don't need to be too impressed. I don't think there was an actual human sculptor involved apart from maybe cleaning up the scans and simplifying them a bit for production. That said, Hasbro (SW Black Series) has had some impressive examples of digital scans gone wrong, so there is that of course 😉
