In the wake of the New “Masters of the Universe” Movie coming this June 2026, Mattel is (unsurprisingly) pulling out all the stops in regard to He-Man toys... and that will include two new action figure lines! Yes, according to a document that Preternia on X has obtained, the two lines will be called FIRST ONES (inspired by the upcoming live-action film for all ages) and CHRONICLES (a premium collectors line inspired by the live-action film). These sound cool but I think everyone should question why the collector targeted figures AREN’T Masterverse figures or at least a separate sub-line in the same scale.
also “Skelegoon”? Is that really the name they’re giving to Skeletor’s potential nameless army minions?
do they know what my generation (Gen Z) uses the word goon for in slang terms?
also I saw the name “First Ones” and for 15 seconds I thought “Oh my god are we finally getting She-Ra 2018 figures!”

Curious where the waves are coming from? Some of the info out there is now more confusing. What does January refer to in Preternia's doc?
Toy Habits also stated that the Chronicles line would be the Masterverse line rebooted and focused on the movie kicking off with movie Scareglow but doesn't seem present in the list or First Ones, so is that not the case now? I thought we were getting Masterverse scaled movie figures with the 3D scan and sculpts aided by the WWE team?

At the very least, I hope that Masterverse will continue via Mattel Creations as an exclusive offering. It's no fun having to reboot so frequently without first completing all the known factions of this franchise.

@smitty-81 yeah of course I know that but us youngin’s use “goon” as modern slang for…. something I’m not describing and you’d think they’d maybe have the foresight to call them another synonym for henchmen or cronie or something like that.

sidenote: I honestly prefer it when Skeletor doesn’t have a whole nameless minion army akin to Stormtroopers or Foot soldiers.
All his cronies being different with their own identities, designs, personalities and abilities makes him somewhat stand out from other iconic big bad antagonists of pop culture.
For Hordak it makes sense since he’s more technological and has already conquered a good chunk of Etheria.

I call bullshit. Toy Habits has been talkin this Chronicles line for months. There might be one minor detail or date wrong on Preternias doc but to discard the whole thing is playin right into Mattel's hands.

This looks like what I've been saying about 200x at retail, they showed way too much of it at SDCC for it to have longevity on the pegs. My guess is damn near everything is going to Cretins.
Although conceivably, if the info is wrong, what's to say the First Ones line isn't a catch-all for 5.5inch figures including the movie? Maybe that's where the confusion about 5.5 and fitting in with lines you already have came in with Chronicles.

Pretty sure Mattel is doing damage control because 2 figure lines don't magically pop up and corroborate each other unless the info and list was generated by the same person, and clearly that's not the case since this is all being sourced from Toy Habits, Preternia and even one of the forums own.
@toyshark Because I am the one who found it. It's up on some retailers already if you know where to look. Here's one of them. Just search chronicles or first ones.
