I didn't expect that but it makes sense considering the character's nature.
You take away that gun and Tri-Klops looks perfect. They really got the colors right.
I don't appreciate the "revision" that hollywood makes of certain characters. I really hope Tri-klops will have his anonymous but nonetheless important sword with him, in both the movie and the action figure box
I will feel better if the figure comes with a sword too.
He looks like an Eternian soldier gone rogue. He has a very similar design to Man-At-Arms. In the 200X series, both characters were the technologists of their respective factions as well. I think the film may be further positioning them as rivals. Perhaps, Man-At-Arms was his mentor?

The actor posted an image of his sword to Instagram last year. He will have a sword.
