@thedoctor so at this point we've finished the first five years of Origins mini comics and collector cards. 

In whatever overall continuity they have, Hordak and his evil Horde have been defeated, but Skeletor and the Snakemen are still at large. 

@smitty-81 it is very hard to believe we are 5 years into Origins already. I really only started collecting last year and a bit. It would be nice to have a big hefty book to read them all. Since I started late some of the exclusives are starting to creep up to the point of being too rich for my blood. 

I should actually sit down and read all the comics, now that I have organized mine.

• They've gone back to this cartoon looking art, and I hate.
• They took elements of Dr. Strange and Darth Vader for GBW's back story.
• The ending is confusing, He-Ro asked about GBW and it says that Mossman is listening, but at the end He-Ro asks if Eldor is going to tell him his story. So did Eldor just think it real hard, was Mossman reading Eldor's mind?
• And the red cobra head snake tail Snakeman is still miss colored.

@smitty-81 The fact that we find out later that he *didn’t* tell the story is an artistic storytelling device that isn’t perfectly handled but to me it’s a legitimate ambiguity on purpose. Just not handled 100% well. So much is often a bit unclear and not crisp.

(With Mossy, I think they’re trying to say that MM is maybe sensing something in the end, smth is up with Eldor, while Eldor is in thought).

The (mis?)colored snake men didn’t bother me as much this time, we didn’t really see any tail on them this time, they just look like Kobra Khan-Like army builders this time.

I also prefer other artists but it looks like they make him work hard on the human faces, the line work is at times finer (re-drawn while zooming in more?) than the bodies and especially than the monsters.

With the creatures, they let him run free and sometimes it’s cool, but I was bothered by a not great Vypor.

I was surprised that Pythonuss or whatshisface is working for the GBW? Maybe I’m out of the loop. Seeing him so prominently, either they want to rub our face in it or they do want to release him after all. At some point.

I liked that he was evil before his transformation already, and it wasn’t as much of a tragic sob story.

A few things:

-This artist likes drawing lips.

-The green hooded Snake Man on Page 1 could be a miscolored Red Serpent Guy (I think his name is Serpentosss), but it could also be a generic Kobra Khan clone. With the art craziness in the mini-comics lately, it's impossible to tell.

-The long-necked serpent on Page 2 is Strettch-Nek (later renamed Anacondus in the late Classics bios). He's a Classics-original character based on concept art for Rattlor. He also appeared in Lady Slither's mini-comic (and maybe Fang-Or's as well, I can't remember.)

-Eldor thinking about GBW's origin but not saying it was confusingly shown but an interesting narrative choice.

-Moss Man being interested doesn't pay off. Maybe in Eldor's future comic?

-Eldor is 100% the teacher who blasted GBW. Maybe that's why MM is interested. 

-Getting your face melted is kind of common on Eternia. Maybe someone should start a support group.

-I still don't understand GBW'S relation to the Snake Men. Why are they working together?

-Okay, so what exactly does a technomancer DO? They sound like they should control technology with magic, which would be cool and explain some of the ancient tech on barbarian Eternia. But they really seem to just be run-of-the-mill wizards. In Classics, GBW seemed like a magical arms dealer, creating Draego-Man and Snake Face for opposing sides, but neither Classics nor Origins have him do anything machine-like. Why are technomancers special?

@smitty-81 Opened mine today. I liked the random assortment of characters in the mini-comic, and even though there’s that canonical problem / story issue in the middle, (which is mostly just…unclear?!) I was pretty entertained.

I love stories that aren’t so centered around He-Man, Teela, MAA. (Why isn’t there a ****storm that He-Man is barely in this story??)

I get the art criticism, it’s not my favorite MOTU art either… but it mostly worked for me. He’s alright at some of the monster warriors, it’s pretty lively, but could be more “on model”, yes.
