What are your thoughts on what MOTU we saw (and indeed didn't see) at SDCC 2025?

Masterverse - I'm more of an Origins guy while collecting both lines but Masterverse was far and away the SDCC winner for me. Those Horde figures were especially good! I'm buying damn near everything it turns out!

Vintage Origins - Good grief, if it wasn't for the Mark Taylor Grayskull poor old Dragstor and Sting-Or might not have been spotted! This can't go on with vintage, it's long past time it was completed. I want everything we saw but that's only because I wanna be done with vintage!

Filmation Cartoon Collection Origins - That She-Ra should have been on display with at least one or two Rebellion members. It's the 40th Anniversary ffs. It already feels like the Filmation stuff is dying off despite assurances. Bringing me to...

200x Cartoon Collection Origins - It's mental how deep they've gone with this and they look utterly fantastic, but even I don't want them for all the reasons. We already have half-assed 200x figures that are now basically useless. Mattel have god knows how many unfinished lines as is. This would be the third time collecting the same old characters in a main line. And so on. Is it me or is there just not much enthusiasm for these?

Thundercats Origins - Why on Third Earth does that already seem to be running on fumes? It feels like a really crappy way to treat your brand partner too as you reveal...

Transformers Origins - It feels like you could count on one hand the folks who thought these were necessary.

Snake Lair - We all know how that went down!

Mondo - not my thing!

The 2026 movie - Would a dialogue snippet or something have killed them?

What am I forgetting? Anyway, Masterverse was the clear winner for me.

Lots of unexpected names on Mattel's booth this year. That's what I love about toy conventions (though SDCC goes beyond that type of products indeed).

What excited you most? Masterverse?

@sketchyskeletor Touché! Masterverse really blew me away. Dragstor is probably the biggest surprise on this year's list, with all the innovations that have been bestowed upon it. Need I say more? I'm also glad to see Mosquitor back from his adventures in Despondos, noting that my MOTUC replica had suffered some domestic setbacks (lol). The Origins range also looks solid. I may well buy my first of the brand's figurines, Adam. Believe me, if it makes me reconsider my decision when I promised myself I'd be done with the “Clark Kent syndrome”, there's definitely something going on here.

Yeah, I'm mainly an Origins guy but the new Masterverse stuff is phenomenal. And I love the look of the 200x but it's arriving too late for me. I've a feeling they'll be higher priced too.
