March 2nd Update: IMAGE SWAP! Back on February 13th, reports were coming in that fan channel retailers were notifying customers who pre-ordered the RE-RELEASE of Masters of the Universe: Origins HE-MAN and SKELETOR that they were getting different figures than what was previously advertised by Mattel. Now all images have been corrected. The below represents the actual figures collectors will be receiving: Original Aricle Published: February 6, 2026 12:27 pm: Mattel has just officially announced a re-release of the "Masters of the Universe" Origins (Vintage line) He-Man and Skeletor figures. Check it out: MATTEL: The Most Powerful Man in the Universe…
We have the Power!
Perfect news lol I gave my youngest the Mark Taylor Castle Grayskull last night but didn't have a Origins 1st run He-Man and Skeletor to give him. This now solves that!
Comment sections are already filled with
Those heads? Really? They're still on shelves!
Release Whiplash! King Hiss! Thunderpunch He-Man!
I'm glad Origins is still alive! (Citation possibly needed)
Don't kill Masterverse! Rerelease the expensive ones!
New knees ladies!
Now if only Mattel would do even some of those suggestions!
I knew this would happen. Even though I have both of the original vintage head releases (I don't know why the pictures show the V1s of the figures, hopefully they aren't those and just reusing old images) I'll probably get extras because while they're still fine, my He-Mans legs have a tiny bit of wear of some kind and one of Skel's arms is a tiny bit loose.
Also they should really rerelease Teela with better quality control on the arms and the updated female figure knees like they did with She-Ra
Well, I wish they would consider running polls every few months with maybe 3-4 characters to be re-released. I suspect we all have gaps in our collections, and people that joined late even more so.
What's kinda ironic is some people are now gonna realise just how many Snakemen they're missing...
For being re-releases they sure did sell out fast. Amazon still has them but BBTS and EE are out.
So BBTS sent out a email and adjusted their page to reflect that the He-Man re-release actually comes with the vintage head sculpt as opposed to the "newer" version.

This is very good news to keep the line alive. Now the question is do I buy them? There are still other origins figures I need first.
Ok.... So, it is the vintage-styled head (which was originally an Amazon exclusive for the first run, I believe.)
It seems like one last attempt to generate relative big profits before the Origins line disappears completely.

If they had any fucking sense they'd Marvel Legends the Origins line during/after the movie and rerelease figures including former exclusives alongside the remaining PoP, Filmation and introduce NA. Basically mixed waves. But I bet their spreadsheet's tooling column is too feeble even for that.
Indeed. Don't get me started on these two keywords: Mattel and tooling. It has frustrated people so much over the years. The existence of an overabundance of references (characters, beasts) that never made it just because of this very principle is too much for me to take. I have reached my limit. It seems like one last attempt to generate relative big profits before the Origins line disappears completely.

@onlyoneskeletor And yet Mattel frequently wastes money on new tooling when it isn't even necessary or asked for by fans. They're so clueless.
