Masters of the Universe action figure collectors have been wondering since the announcement of the new "Chronicles" action figure line, how will "Masterverse" fit in with Chronicles (if Masterverse ultimately ends next year?) Well, big MOTU fan Geek Illustrator Dad did some comparisons today with Masterverse and his Masters of the Universe “Inaugural Edition” Chronicles Scare Glow (an action figure received thanks to an alternate replacement option for an out-of-stock defective figure.) Here are some comparisons: So how is Scare Glow sized in the "Inaugural Edition" Chronicles line? Is he average? Undersized? Oversized? We'll need some more comparisons with other…

I, for one, won't have any problem adding him to my collection to fill the New Eternia Scareglow spot. Comparisons, especially in Masterverse, are pretty biased, though, since figures like Thunder Punch He-Man and Snout Spout are known to be larger than average. That being said, one could argue that he technically belongs to this toy line when compared to New Eternia Skeletor or Revelation Scareglow.

Good point.

Yeah it is too early to call it one way or another but so far so good.

COOL!!

Three things come immediately to my mind:

1.) Smooth joint system! (Although, Figma will never bee beaten in that category...)

2.) NO THIGH CUTS!! Woot! (I've been asking for this for a LOOOOONG time!)

3.) He scales well with Masterverse!!!!! (I know it's still a bit too early to make a final call... but from what I can see in the video, Inaugural Scare Glow looks fantastic with the rest of the MV family!)

This is all a great relief, though yes, a bit early to start the party in earnest.

What I don’t love is that the head / face feels a bit more petite again, compared to some of his MV counterparts. That wasn’t great with at first (Revelation mostly), and I’m so glad they rectified it in New Eternia. It’s a misguided attempt to make the figures more stylized or more sophisticated.

But the bolder MV head sizes proved it’s the best way to go for MOTU. The face of this Svare Glow, his eyes a bit too close together, is so far the only weak point I can spot. No dealbreaker though, and I look forward to checking him out in person!

P.S. Yes to no thigh cuts! That’s a big win for optics!

If these figs keep measuring up like this it will considered a Masterverse V2.

If this replaces Masterverse then all those fucking people whining about thigh cuts will finally get their wish.

I'm one of those "fucking people."

The thigh cuts are an awful, lazy design choice that breaks up the sculpt and just looks bad - especially on bare legs.

I'm happy Mattel has finally seen the light.
