OUR REVIEW:
While the script could have been tightened up by eliminating extraneous scenes like a Man-At-Arms invention that never pays off, this is a solid episode thanks to the evil villain Nepthu both in concept and design, a man that pushes himself to the brink of death to quench his thirst for power. (7/10)

Python’s was invented during the MOTU classics era. All the new characters had to have 50% parts reuse so that’s why they look similar, as Neeptu had an action figure in that line. PP never made it to an actual figure in the line tho, just concept art.
okay episode
Cringer doesn’t like sand, it’s corse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.
Lowkey I feel like in an alternate timeline, this came out a few years later and if Sun Man was more successful and had a cartoon then this would’ve been a crossover episode.
He-Man makes witty quips so much in this episode that I don’t feel like it’s annoying, but this bad guy is just another bad guy and this is just an average day for He-Man.
I like that once Cringer admits to wanting to be Battle Cat in the moment, the way He-Man says by the Power of Grayskull differently. I’m sure it never happens in this show but I like it in cartoons when a usual trademark catchphrase is altered/interrupted/a bit off-key for the sake of a joke. Wasn’t the intention here but still.
This is a good episode but the Sorceress is a complete idiot. From Castle Grayskull she can see everything even different dimensions but she uses her weak falcon form for a reconnaissance mission. It’s her own fault for getting caught. She should have just checked the place out by looking into one of her mirrors. Whatever. The Egyptian villian rocked. He didn’t look cartoony at all and his dehydrated old man eyes still gives me the willies.
This is a terrific episode. Nepthu and the Temple of the Sun remind me of the great Mummy movies twenty years ago. I would have liked Nepthu to have more appearances like Count Marzo but that never happened. Though I am happy he got a happy ending.Cringer was interesting. I like how he stood his ground at least for a little while until ge realized Battle Cat was necessary. He learned a lesson which I was okay with as long as He-Man didn’t need to ride Battle Cat. Then that would been a selfish and obstructive. I looked through the series bible but didn’t find out any more details about Cringer and Battle Cat’s personalities and the details of his transformation. Maybe we’ll get more clues as we rewatch the rest.
Y’all may laugh at me but I just realized something after the gymnastics scene. If it wasn’t for the power, Teela is better than Adam in every way.
4 stars. Solid adventure with cool villan and the cringer stuff is classic. (Not sure where my original review went?)
