OUR THOUGHTS:
While the episode starts out strong with a creepy carnival ringmaster and a mysterious white "Pretty Kitty" aimed to attract Cringer, the white beast disappears midway for a subpar Snake Mountain adventure where an oddly introduced Earthly condiment saves the day. (5/10)

  1. When I was a kid I loved this episode. I remember being shocked that the carnival leader was really Beast Man. Watching Cringer react to the white lion is funnier as an adult. When I was a kid I thought nothing of it but watching it as an adult I blush. Cringer is panting like he wants to mate! The crazy things they used to put on kids shows.

  2. I have fond memories of this one – obviously I’m a huge fan of any Cringer/Battlecat focused episode, and this is one of the few that I think actually gives them both a fair amount of attention and dialogue. The setup is fun especially for the viewer – Skeletor thinks capturing Cringer will bring Adam which will bring He-Man, and Beastman is the perfect Evil Warrior for the task. From a continuity sake too I love the brief dialogue when Skeletor asks Beastman why he doesn’t control Cringer with his powers and Beastman replies that there’s something different about Cringer.

There’s a lot of head scratching moments in this one though – the whole dialogue when He-Man and Battlecat confront Skeletor in his throne room is bizarre, and the fact that pepper is what saves the day against someone who doesn’t have a nose. I also like how Evil-Lyn says she powered up Teela’s chains to the point He-Man can’t free her and a couple of minutes later He-Man snaps them like a twig.

Definitely a fun “feel-good" episode – to this day I still laugh when Orko’s hat catches on fire and he thinks pepper will put it out.
