Yes, the “Trap-filled stronghold of terror”… The Evil Horde FRIGHT ZONE will finally be coming to the Masters of the Universe: Origins action figure line. Check out these images:

…where fans had the power to choose the next Masters of the Universe crowdfunding project by voting among five different options…
….it looks like Mattel perhaps decided to mass produce the Fright Zone and (hopefully) avoid its original crowdfunding path.
We will probably learn more about this during the Mattel Creations REVEALED live event so be sure to tune in to the Mattel Creations website on Thursday, March 6th at 1:01PM (ET) / 10:01AM (PT) to hopefully find out more!

Sure, they’ve added some Filmation touches but really…its an unappealing design and always has been. And now it’s a weird mashup between two different takes on the Horde.
But something tells me other people will be happy with it.
After the utter freak out to the Snake Lair are you surprised Mattel isn’t trying any substantial upgrades or redesigns? Fandom ruins everything.

Great update on the original, it looks awesome! The creature is a little underwhelming but overall I like the new features added to the set.
Now, all we need is the Slime Pit and we’ll have completed all vintage MOTU playsets in Origins!

It was really time for this piece to become a reality. That’s why I’m open to any compromise when it comes to this product.
Some people really have odd expectations. Origins, from the start, has been about re-creating the original line with somewhat updated modern mechanics. And this is exactly that. So good job Mattel, and thanks for letting us complete at least the main playets (sans PoP, which seems to have its home in the Cartoon collection anyway)
