OUR REVIEW:
While this episode begins with a very creative and visually spectacular attack on the Palace, it transforms into yet another middle of the road episode where Orko feels unloved and he has to be proven otherwise. Apparently accessing the secrets of Castle Grayskull only requires one to be good at riddles. Ho hum. (5/10)

  1. I’ve never been a huge fan of this one, the plot is too similar to “The Rarest Gift of All" which is definitely not a compliment, down to Adam getting interrupted while reading to transform (those parts are fine/different). I also can’t stand the talking drawbridge, I’m sure that’s a part that Revelation/Revolution pretended never happened.

Two good things I do like about this episode: This is a fun and different Evil Warrior lineup, and it’s nice to see Adam actually get to use his sword and not lose it!

  2. I like it but it’s not my favorite. The genie lamp is kind of random and I don’t like the recycled scenes. I know that sounds crazy for a fan of this series but you know what I mean. I’m not talking stock animation but I’m talking the Orko flashbacks. I like that the She-Ra music was used again. It’s fun to think Filmation must have started She-Ra when they were making this episode. It was also nice to see Sorceress being the hero this time. I like it. It makes me want a cartoon collection Sorceress figure even more.

    1. It makes me want a cartoon collection Sorceress figure even more.

Same, but I doubt it given the first Origins Sorceress (toy-based) sold really poorly, then again, said figure looks enough cartoon accurate since the OG figure was released right at the end of the original toyline’s run.
Yeah I like this episode. Rare Orko-focused story that doesn’t bother me. Love it when they show his adorable little brother side.
Also love how Skeletor in his genie disguise doesn’t even attempt a different voice, yet Ork falls for it.

Currently on a trip in Rome. Very nice place so far. Out of curiosity, I’m starting to look up Italian voice actors and what roles they have and shared, and I found something very surprising that I’m sure even the most diehard MOTU fans don’t know
So the Italian dub of Filmation had two different casts for the two seasons (Foreign dubs don’t usually bother with franchise VA consistency if they ain’t the US or Japan)
For the second season’s dub, He-Man was voiced by Mario Cordova, who would go onto dub 2018 Hordak! Yeah, wild!
Also as for the Live-action movies he’s dubbed, He was Egon Spengler in Ghostbusters, Batman in Batman Returns and M. Bison in the 90s Street Fighter movie.
Also looking at the Dubbing Database site, it says the dubbing director for the first season, Franco Latini, voiced Skeletor/Cringer/Orko/Randor and was also basically Italian Mel Blanc/Frank Oz with the amount of Looney Tunes and Muppets he voiced.
and Ram Man shares an Italian VA with Zurg in Toy Story 2 and Adam West in Family Guy
